Gaming PC Build for R8000

Sure. this is my current build you can copy it or you can remove or change things but my pc was about 10-12k

AMD FX 8320 cpu

Asus M5A97 R2.0 Motherboard

Gigabyte 7870 OC GPU (you could change to: http://rebeltech.co.za/r9-series/1628-asus-radeon-r9-270x-2gb-ddr5-pci-express-30.html

Corsair vengeance 8GB RAM (you can add more or a different make)

Thermaltake 650w (you can change but its a good power supply good value)

1TB seagate barracuda HDD ( you can change)

NZXT phantom 410 (you can remove)

Normal Dvd/cd rom as i hardly use it.

Gonna drop a build in here, but obviously you need to fine tune it to whatever your needs are.

If anyone disagrees then that's fine, more options can only help.

CPU: i5 4690k - Overkill for what you want to do I guess, but it's a good CPU and somewhat 'futureproof', your call. (if you want Intel, that is)
GPU: R9 270X
PSU: Thermaltake LitePower 650Watt - Though someone else can probably recommend a better one, I am not a PSU guru at all.
RAM: Patriot 4GBx2 (1333mhz or higher, your choice really since they are somewhat close in pricing, but tbh in games there's no significant performance increase going from 1333mhz to 1600 or even higher unless you have an APU.
HDD: WD Blue 1TB, unless you want an SSD, but coming from a 70gb HDD this should feel like christmas - your choice.
Motherboard: ASRock Z97 Pro4
CPU cooler: TBA
Am I missing anything important?

This equated to about R9200~ for me using Takealot and Wootware and it only took me 5 minutes, so you can most definitely make improvements, I suggest asking Wesley - NAG, he made some great PC gaming builds, or check carbonite, you can sometimes get a 270x for under R2000 that are less than 1 year old (if you don't mind second hand GPU's).

Don't know what else to say.

Now let's see how long it takes before someone ****s on me for my math or hardware recommendations hahahaha

Total Price = R10 453

It makes sense to be suspicious of things that are cheaper, but you do get a 2 year warranty so you can RMA it during that time if something goes wrong and you can sell it just before the warranty ends.

But it's your money and your choice at the end of the day.
 
LadiesMan, I have heard that PowerColor has a bad service... So overall, how good was my build?

You both failed to include a case/chassis in your build! Add in another ~R700 for a decent case...

I highly recommend the i5 4690k over any AMD CPU on the market.

There's pretty much no debate regarding the AMD vs Intel 'war' any more when it comes to high end CPU's. That being said, for gaming in particular you'll be fine with either the 8320/50 or the i5 4690k.

I intentionally left it out, computer cases are such a subjective thing. I can tell him what'd be a good or easy case to build in, but I can't tell him what to like.

Have a look at Takealot or Wootwares or Rebeltechs cases OP
