Gas unavailability ?

Latest gas prices?

Current LPG prices.

Gauteng prices apply in all of Gauteng. Prices change on the first Wednesday of each month, just like petrol.

These prices include VAT, unlike what some dealers will tell you, as seen in this piece: www.cbn.co.za/featured/lpg-are-you-being-ripped-off/

Seems like R234.81 for a 9kg.

I paid R219,94 from The Gas Company.

Actual R269.94 if I add monthly R50 for gas on tap option.

The gas on tap option sounds great but unless you a heavy user, its not much of a benefit.

That R50pm option's viability is really going to depend on how many cylinders you go through a month and how much of a premium you place on faster delivery.

Yep, what I'm considering.

Not breaking my back to change a ton of cylinders after they run out,and they only charge usage,be it 1kg used or an empty cylinder so the value proposition for me is high

True but my hassle is a 14kg lasts me 3 months, so 9kg not going to be much less.

But if shortage of gas I wont be running around and main issue is, not carting around gas bottles.

But need to check if its worth it. If I install gas geysers then it might be.

How do you replace the gas in those 14Kg cylinders? Do you get a company like Afrox out with the same number of cylinders and they replace it? Or do you put them on a bakkie and drive to the gas company and do a swap?

Yeah we're running gas geysers, stoves and heaters
So we have 1x19Kg and 1x9Kg sitting spare to swop in in a worst case. The master-bathroom gas lasts about 3 weeks so it needs a frequent swop,so definitely worth it for me ;)

My normal gas supplier literally down the road. 14kg not that heavy. But still a hassle to drive around with it. As I said 1 x 14kg literally lasts me 3 or more months.

Considering installing a 19kg for gas geyser but still not sure.

Check the rating of your geyser in terms of gas usage. A 19kg cylinder is only rated for half a kilo per hour continuous.
