Gauteng

Im in the Centurion area, i have between 95-99% signal and -85dBm. When i download it will only download for 30sec - maybe 1min then it will briefly show a pop up message in the Cell C box saying, Disconnected ( as if the dongle was disconnected from my pc....? but how, its plugged in at the back of my pc ) and then it will search and authenticate and i can connect again and then it will work again. Sometimes it will show disconnect, then 5sec connect, then 6sec disconnect, several times in a row....... and it does this on all 4 of my USB ports at the back....?
What will cause this? When it downloaded i got maximum 700kb/s download speed.

Malvern East/Germiston: 71-dBm 98% signal strength

Decent download speed, and it would seem the upload speed has been restored to something worthwhile. Can finally say that I'm satisfied with Cell C in my area! :D

wow!! dude, some of us can only dream of such speeds! where is your nearest tower? outside your door step or something? :)

My nearest tower probably across the road to be honest not sure man. I will do another speed test to show you probably the base station/tower ain't congested at all :) my RSI is improving getting nearly -63 db now

Damn! With all these complaints our CellC rep must be hiding under his desk. :p

I agree with you fully he/she is undercover but actually reading the forum.

Cell C is slow again!

10 minutes to download 228KB ...

RSSI: -81dBm
Cell ID: 19971

What area are you from ?

Be patient - CELL C are probably switching on more base stations and working on the network or something - at the moment in my opinion things are starting to approve even with RSSI -97 - I am able to surf before this wouldn't be possible

Can you open a webpage using the IP address? I.e. try Amazon: http://72.21.214.128
What happens if you set your DNS server to OpenDNS which is 208.67.222.222 or/and 208.67.220.220? Can you browse then using domain names?

It downloads a few bytes and stops for a long long time then if your lucky it repeats this proccess.

I have 3.4GB still to use but with this speed I can only use it up by April and by then I have 15GB more to use. Maybe I must pitch a tent next to a tower this weekend..
