Is there any other site that is just like gearbest in terms of shipping fees? Like their offer of priority line shipping at a reasonable rate. Most of these other Chinese sites offer free shipping and we know that doesn't always go well...

Packed change is actually very good news. What it means is that the item has been packed and moved to the shipping company. In most cases, they will ship within 3-5 days of packed. It actually get to the shipping company sooner but the only give the tracking number once they know the shipping company should get the package to Aramex. From GearBest, to shipping company to Aramex normally takes a few days.

I have been ordering from overseas for over 10 years now and there is not many companies that do good rates on shipping to South Africa. I have used almost every service and GearBest might be slow but they are still quicker then airmail from any other company or paying $100 to ship a phone to SA.
STILL not shipped, now my ticket says my zip code is incorrect, "Your zip code is not right. Please indicate us the exact shipping address as follow format in English:..." (hint: it is the same as it has always been for the last 50 years) and I double checked the address, and resupplied them with the exact same address which is 100% correct.
It's like a slapstick comedy.
For JHB I use code 2001 which works for me. Suburb codes don't work with their preferred shipping provider.

I bought from Geekbuying a few times in the past, used the EMS option (roughly same price). No complaints. Takes about a week or two longer than the Priority line on Gearbest. Only thing is, EMS hands over to the Post office in South Africa. Sometimes they deliver at your home, sometimes you'll have to collect.

This below is the response I get from gearbest regarding my order. The address I used is and always has been the same address used for Amazon, alibaba, frozencpu etc etc. What absurdity is this!? @gearbest @gearbestza... Please respond

Yeah how can mybroadband support these guys or rather promote this company? ... Tell them to keep their sponsorship money because right now with the negative rep they getting this is being mirrored on mybroadband...

Definitely is some issue at Gearbest, they used to always ship ASAP, within a day or 2 but my last few orders have also been delayed for a week or 2 before being shipped. They probably have allowed 3rd party sellers on board or something similar that's creating this havoc.
Exact same experience with them for a Mi 6. Decided to take a refund but lost out about R 700 bucks in currency conversion and fees. Paid with fnb cc.

Do note that due to December being such a busy month, their shipping company has started to stop shipping via Aramex as there is to much to send and won't be able to ship out this year.

Please be patient. Most orders when marked as "Packed" means that they have been packages and forwarded to the shipping company to arrange shipping.

Brands is a hard choice. There are a lot of entry level devices for good prices but I always suggest doing as much research as you can. Check on YouTube for the device model, check forums, search for Cons, etc. Not all phones are perfect and do remember that most entry level devices won't have Image stabilization and won't have Gyro as only the top end devices come with those features.

I understand that brands are a hard choice. I was just wondering about the quality of the Blackview phones. It will not be for me but for my son that works in the bush at a Private Game lodge. I use either Huawei or Samsung myself.

My package was supposed to be sent with Aramex. Does this mean i won't be getting it anytime soon!!!!
