I ordered something from gearbest and now they telling me I must wait for stock on the 16th of August before they ship out. I even paid for the quicker shipping. Why the hell does the website reflect in stock when it actually is not?? Has anybody experienced this kind of service before?
I ordered a phone on special that showed in stock... I placed the order on 25/07/18 and still has not been shipped. Also took Aramex shipping.

I had the exact same issue with the exact same phone.. Sells like hotcakes. I told them I'll wait and it took them about a week to restock, currently sitting at aramex..
For you it may be a blessing in disguise as you can tell them to credit you so that you can buy the new released Mi A2/lite
Looks pretty much the same as the Redmi 5 plus exept it's like R700 more than what I paid. I paid 2k on special including Aramex shipping.

I'm hoping my device still gets shipped this week because next week Wednesday will be 15 working days.Still waiting for my phone to be couriered from 25/07 and support is now not replying to my tickets anymore.... Probably the last time ordering from these clowns. Better off with Aliexpress and the wait time on airmail is crazy so international shopping is a thing if tbe past for south africans....

How long does customs take these days? I have 2 phones waiting from 05/08. It's been 4 working days and nothing yet.
Aramex seems to have lost one of the smart watches. At least I don't care much about it. I will take it up with Gearbest in a week or so if Aramex can't provide anything.

Decided I will exchange my Xiaomi for a Cubot P20 in Twilight blue. It's going for $129.99 which is a great price for a phone with 4GB RAM and 64GB onboard.
I'm not really happy with all the LTE frequencies. It does not support LTE-A and does not support B40 or B38 TDD so Telkom and Rain on those bands are out but it does support B1 and B3 FDD which covers the rest of the networks LTE so that should be okay.
EDIT: NVM They don't have it in stock and they don't know how long it will take to get stock yet they advertise it on the website on a special showing 800+ pieces available.
Gearbest is probably the worst it seems when it comes to buying phones. They are only good for 1 thing and that is the very affordable Priority line shipping. If it wasn't for that I would probably never have even bothered with them.

Yeah buying phones from these clowns was a mistake. They take the money and run. No stock. Offered to rather ship something else then after suggesting 3 other options they don't have stock of anything nor can they even give me an estimate time.
Now I'm out of pocket with no phone and estimates that change on the daily. First 15 working days. Then it changed to 20+ days and now they replied saying they do not know when they will have stock again but refuse me a refund.
Guess it's time to start a dispute for the card purchase with my bank.

They refunded me my money in my GB wallet and gave me points.
Ordered a half decent gaming headset today and was marked as "shipped" after 4 hours... Sigh just wish they had the phones I wanted.

Besides it going through SAPO, you won't be able to get a refund if they provide tracking number. Aliexpress will almost always side with the seller.
Gearbest only seemed like the best option, but I wouldn't use them now considering how bad they're are at the moment.
I bought from Aliexpress since the beginning of days. Always been pretty decent. So 4 items never actually reached me in this time of buying from them and got my money back always. The trick with getting your money back is asking the seller to extend buyer protection at least twice and after that open dispute and when they track it it won't show the info so yeah.
I'm pleasantly surprised by Wish. One order never arrived and I actually asked for a replacement shipment but they insisted on refunding me which they did. The wish items though usually do not come with tracking info and that is an issue with SAPO.
Gearbest is decent with the Aramex shipping. ~R200 gets your stuff here safely compared to the R450-R550 for DHL on Aliexpress but the thing with Gearbest is on phones they don't have stock and the consumer electronics are not as competitive as other places. GB charges quite a bit for Registered post. I saw they charge in the range of R48-R60 for Registered post which I feel is a bit pricey. They do offer options of 3 or 4 postal services though which means absolutely nothing for south africans because it still takes 2 to 3 months to receive it.

Well I am thinking of buying from Alieexpress because GB is not shipping Mi Box via Middle East Express anymore and DHL is way to expensive.
Only option is using Alie and ship via Aramex Global Shopper.
Seems like GB is trying to self destruct.
They used to be my only China shop but seems like all good things comes to an end...
