Norway’s government has proposed a temporary ban on AI-powered smart glasses in some public spaces, citing growing privacy concerns.

The restrictions could apply to schools, kindergartens, gyms, healthcare facilities, parks, beaches, museums, concerts, and shopping centers.

Officials are particularly concerned that smart glasses can take photos, record conversations, or stream video without people nearby realizing it.

The government said it is not planning a complete ban and may allow some exceptions. The temporary rules would give Norway time to decide which smart glasses should be restricted and whether permanent laws are needed.
