General coffee thread

I’m flying to Cape Town soon, so Deluxe Coffee better be grinding their best in preparation of my invasion.
 
The best instant (or rather that tastes like filter):
VIA Starbucks.
But I'm also partial to Nescafe Gold 'Espresso'.

Otherwise for espresso Nespresso, either Nespresso, or Nespresso Starbucks or Lavazza Nespresso or WW Nespresso compatible. The Nespresso matcha sold at WW are also nice.

Last time I bought Nespresso compatible from Woolworths, it was terrible. The shots took twice as long to pour, and sputtered and dribbled like me in my nineties. Now it’s genuine Nespresso capsules or nada for me, I just don’t like those small annoyances.

It dribbles slowly sometimes but it's decent.

Genuine Nespresso is also about how it's packaged. Starbucks is Nespresso licensed so their capsules go well. Lavazza is not licensed but has no issues. It depends what's on hand. WW takes longer with Lungo but on espresso setting it's very doable, for me.

Yeah, I’m not a massive nerd but I cared about this enough to discover that even though Nespresso’s protection of the pod design has ended, they still have exclusive use of some of the packaging within the pods which delivers the higher-pressure shots. Not for nothing they now moved over to larger pods which are exclusively under their control again.

They moved on and they didn't move on, as they still sell and release new coffees in the original form. However, I can't be bothered to buy there. The last time I bought there was maybe 3 years ago.

One doesn't even had to do that sort of research. One can look at the capsule itself. Lavazza is very similar and forces the water well. WW uses a less stiff foil on theirs. WW however is often cheaper.

The waiter walks to the table and proceed to take customer's coffee mug.

Customer grabs mug and says "Uhm, excuse me, but I am still drinking my coffee"

Waiter: "but sir your coffee is cold"

Customer "There is no such thing as cold coffee. Can I have some ice please?"

Waiter giggles in confusion "Well sir, what about tea, do you drink that cold as well?"

Customer gets up, throws cash on counter without tip and leaves coffee shop.

This world is lost.
