Question of the Day: Have you ever ordered a product online and received a fake knock-off?
Recently shot a wedding and the people were dragging their heels for the group shot on the stage while they milled around talking to other family and people who weren't going to in the picture. The bride's friend pulled out a phone for a group selfie and they all shouted at her to wait then ran in to be the photo. I wanted to elbow drop a couple of them.

One tip - you need to make the bride and groom wait 4-6 weeks to see their images - they'll appreciate them more

FWIW, remember not to cut off parts of the people in the pic, even if it is a wedding dress.

You can't generalise like that though. You can create very cool photos with parts of the people outside of the frame.
New rig I cobbled together this afternoon with bits lying around the house.
Pretty impressed with the Manfroto Super Clamp. Pretty sure it will support pretty much anything I might want to hang from it.

You can do some amazing things with those clamps, really get creative, actually a nice use is getting a tablet holder with a tripod mount/thread and you can mount them anywhere in conjunction with a clamp, use it as a music collection interface/Kodi controller etc. The clamps are quite a price though but I suppose they'll last near a lifetime.
My next project is a laptop stand. I'm always battling to secure a second chair to rest my laptop on so I figured mounting it on a lighting stand would be great.

Each clamp is rated for 15kg, so 2 should hold a laptop plus your hands/arms semi resting on it without any trouble. There is some laptop accessory available that either works on its own or in conjunction with the clamps to give you a nice laptop platform. Mmm got me thinking!
Thanks - I'm leaning more towards a music stand sort of approach at this stage.
EDIT: I just tested the rig I used last night with a 400mm and a 1D body and it held fast. Not even the slightest amount of flex.

Looks like an interesting idea. It may even work as a vehicle mount. For you though, what worries me is what do you mount it on?

What little ball head is carrying that rather large weight just below the lens foot?
Anything you can attach the clamp onto that will hold the weight, you do get dedicated door mounts to attach a gimbal or ball head onto, sometimes the correct tool is the only decent option.
There are any number of points around our local cricket ground that I could mount it on but I wouldn't. The tubing on the arm seems like it could be prone to bending if it got even the smallest kink with all that weight. I'd just use fix my (larger) ball head directly on the clamp.
With a lighter camera/lens combo though... see my earlier post.
It's a little Slik SBH-100DQ I got for my mini tripod. The ball head itself is very strong however the plate is a little too small for my liking. Just not enough surface area to stop the lens from rotating if pressure is applied. I've got a much bigger head I'd use if I really wanted to mount that lens/camera combo.
