General Photography

I took it pretty easy on it - a few press conferences, some 1/8th power fill for some portrait sessions. If they were robust I don't think Godox would only guarantee them for 14 days ;)

The trigger is some internal thing.

As for longevity my 300mm f/4 was manufactured in 1992 and my f/4 70-200 in 2006. My oldest working flash is probably 7-8 years old.
What do you mean by that, surely it’s minimum 6 months if it was bought in South Africa?

I have quite a lot of Godox kit and it’s never given me issues, I really like their stuff, best bank for your bucks.

Do you think upgrading from an X-T30 (the first version) to the X-H2S, rather than the X-T4. Or just stick with the X-T30. I shoot with the Fuji 100-400. Mainly love wildlife photography...
Can I ask what lenses you use for your wildlife shooting?
If money is no object just get the X-H2S but the XT4 is an awesome camera, even an XT3 would be a decent upgrade from an Xt30.

According to Godox SA the warranty is as follows:

Warranty Period:

· 12 months, (24 months for consumers, 12 months for companies) all products excluding Godox Flash Tubes; Godox Batteries; Godox Modeling Lamps; GPB Camera Batteries and Lithium LiFePo4 and Power Banks
· 14 Days – Godox Flash Tubes, Batteries and Modeling Lamps
· 3 years – GPB Camera Batteries
I've also got a fair amount of their stuff including three 300w strobes, two AD200Pros and two AD100Pros plus a whole lot of modifiers etc.

I would definitely upgrade t30.
Both cameras are great maybe you should try them both out and check ergonomics.
Also x2s is more expensive so not sure of your budget.
Lens wise depends on situation 50-140, 100-400 (sometimes with 1.4tc) or canon 300 2.8 with fringer adapter.

Usually I would carry two bodies one long and one with wide angle lens for landscape.
Not sure if you have any other bodies but I would keep t30 if you do not have any.

Just to add do not be afraid of buying second hand cameras.
There are few dealers that are trustworthy and you might score a deal.

Surely that goes against the CPA?
Godox may claim that is the case but the law of the land supersedes their T&C's.
I can kind of understand flash tubes because you can drop them and damage them but why batteries as well.

No idea, probably? But that's what they said. Eventually they capitulated and fixed it without charge.

Not sure they really care TBH, does anyone?
How did you convince them to do that?

So planning to get back into the hobby again after 3 tough years financially where I was forced to sell my previous kit.

Mainly going to be focusing on family stuff, school sports and some wildlife when I get the opportunity.

Always loved the feel of a DSLR, but is it just time to move on to mirrorless?

Not too bothered with full frame because I'm not a pixel peeker and not going to be shooting super low light situations.

I really like the look of the following three cameras.

Would love some advice and feedback. Personal experience would be a bonus.

Canon 90D
Canon 7D Mark 2
Canon R10

Open to suggestions. But would prefer to stick with Canon or Nikon because of range of lenses.

Thanks guys.

I have the Canon 60D and the 40D before that. I love them. I'm not saying there aren't better cameras; I just love the range. I have small hands so it fits me perfectly - and I like the menus.

Of those three I've only had personal experience with the 7Dmk2 - great camera but it's a bit long in the tooth.

At this stage mirrorless is probably the best bet. The older EF lenses work great on mirrorless (with the adapter) and you'll save a few bucks using them.

EDIT - you'll get pronounced rolling shutter on the R10 if you're shooting sports when using the electronic shutter so you'll probably end up shooting with the mechanical shutter. So if you're buying 2nd hand check the shutter count.

Is it worth it to get Affinity 2 with 50% off special going on. I currently don't do mass editing where I need to have the major features lightroom has for bulk stuff, but I do like it for filtering the Photos.

Is there anything else for filtering the Photos and then using Affinity 2 to edit the photos?

Yes.

If I had money to burn right now I’d get this:

Almost £800 saving on a Canon (with OK glass) is nothing to sniff at.

The R6 II really looks like a solid camera that is really good in most things. Keen to see if the R7 II will eventually release.

I got one this summer (US) from amazon.com for $1999 without the glass. It's hard to find fault with it.

So I found a bargain on a 90D kit including battery grip and two lenses and I pulled the trigger.

Would have loved a telephoto lens as well. But that will have to wait until next year.

Not bad. I took about 20k images in a week on a trip a short while ago. Too scared to go trough all of them
