TV needs to be set to PC Mode
If you're talking about Game Mode, all that does is bypass the signal processing routines to improve input lag. Game mode can still run with any Picture Size setting e.g. 16:9 or Screen Fit.

As mentioned the important part for achieving the crispest picture is to achieve 1:1 pixel mapping, that is zero overscan added to output from PC and zero underscan on the TV (e.g. slight zooming performed by 16:9 Picture Size setting).

Sure it does. Has worked for all LA32D550 PC LCD owners. I'm using HDMI too.
Where do you find PC mode on the D550?

Edit: Just checked, on my D6000 (shouldn't be too dissimilar to D5000) there is no PC Mode setting anywhere in either HDMI or VGA input (connect my X360 original sans HDMI using VGA).

Source list, usually.

So I spent some time with my UA46D6000 and HT-D5500 over the weekend, just WOW.

The picture quality is really outstanding.

I watched the 1st LOTR and picture is soooo smooth.
No light bleed (lightspots) at all. NOTHING. Played to the part where they enter the Mines of Moria (for those who know LOTR :)) Rewinded to see the dark scenes, nothing, did it the 3rd time, and could not see anything.

Roman, have you noticed anything? Lightspots?

And the sound quality of the HT-D5500 is really good.
I just can't tell what the difference between (and what is best for MOVIES) Dolby Prologic, Movie, Matrix, Stereo etc.
I just put it on Prologic and gooi!

Still not 100% happy with the screen. Its not as clear as my 2450H was. . . Is that normal?

I thought it would be the same clarity if not better.

Its the UA32D5000 Btw

The max res is 1920 x 1080, is that correct?

From 90cm - 1m it's clear to me. When up closer pixels are more evident than on a smaller 1080p screen, much bigger screen to fill.

I am about 1m away, maybe a bit more and its not as clear as my 24inch was, but as you say, more pixels. I think I also need to fiddle with the settings some more, I haven't had much time with work and kids etc.

But JEEEEZZZ BF3 looks amazing. I was blown away.

Pro Logic is only 2ch pseudo unmixed to 5.1.

wat... I don't even ...

Well, I will play around with it tonight. Perhaps theres like a DEMO or something that I can test with? Something plays sound to each speaker at it's own time?

So I have decided I am not happy using this Samsung UA32D5000 LED as a PC monitor. . . Will go back to my 2 24's.

So if anyone wants to take it off me for what I paid PM me. I have the slip etc. I see the the price at Makro has already gone back to what it was which is R700 more than I paid so will score.

I am sure this is a sick TV, but for PC use I don't think it really suits me. :)

Why? :(

Is the PQ not good? Text not sharp? Games not awesome? Cause that's how ours are - CCFL backlit LCD, not LED.

Is it too big?

Its not the size. Love it, and it is awesome in games.
