Digital photo frames, such as the DPF- 700 from Genius, offer you the ability to display your digital photographs without the need to print out a single photo. The idea behind this concept is that you are able to display photos straight from a memory card, or in some cases, directly from the Internet if your digital photo frame supports this feature.

Looking at what this frame has to offer, we were disappointed with the lack of features, especially when comparing it to other models in this price range. The biggest shortfall of the DPF-700 is the display quality of the 7-inch LCD, rated at a resolution of 480 x 234 pixels: this frame will not do justice to any photograph it displays - the poor display quality is just too obvious. Another major oversight is the SD-only memory card slot [which supports SD/ SDHC/MMC/MS memory cards]; a multi-memory card reader should be the standard on digital photo frames. Even though this photo frame does support a direct USB connection, this feature is only used to transfer images to and from the SD memory card.

The second USB port can be used to view photos and video clips on a USB flash drive, but considering the low image quality of the frame, you’d be better off printing your images and manually framing them.
