Yes, Tories were elected in 2010 on a programme of austerity. It wasn't some hidden agenda, it was there in the manifesto. Easy to shower special interest groups with money during the boom years as Blair did.

Russian T-34 tanks were superior than most german tanks. The ones they were inferior to, were not produced in sufficient numbers by Germany to make any tactical advantages.

Zhukov out maneuvered the Germans. Summer offensive of 1942 stopped the Germans. They got bogged down in the winter of 1942 and were encircled and an entire German division was effectively wiped out.

Russians successfully gave up land and played for time, so they could muster adequate forces to counter the German forces in key strategic battles.

By 1944, with Operation Bagration, Germany could offer little effective resistance and the Soviet forces steamrolled the Nazis all the way back. Within 10 days the Soviets pushed them back from Minsk to the pre-war Poland border.

They were in Berlin pretty soon afterwards.

You're naive to think that it was somehow planned that the Russians were going to wait until winter (hint: no-one really knew how the Germans would fare in the harsh Russian winter. One could make predictions). They got a bit too close to Moscow for it to be such a bit of strategic genius by Zhukov.

They were elected because Gordon Brown was such a boring fecker.

But the firing of police officers in the UK is what caused an increase in violent crime more than anything else. So stop trying to shift blame

After Hitler basically screwed it up by flip-flopping on whether to go straight for Moscow or not. Stalin got lucky and sacrificed millions for that luck.

So why did Russia pull all their industry back to the interior and gut Moscow? Losing Moscow would not have lost the war for Russia.

The Soviets were happy to trade territory with time. Zhukov built up defences for Moscow.

Russia was ways going to fight back and hard and just needed time to pick itself up from the surprise attack of Operation Barbarossa.

You should read Antony Beevor's Second World War. It gives a nice broad overview of this strategy.

More like needed time to rebuild after Stalin's purge that happened just before the war.

I'm not even sure what point you are trying to make.

Okay it starts off with a silly argument about who steamrolled who. The Nazis steamrolled The USSR, then froze up, ran out of steam, and got steamrolled right back.

The initial steamrolling was definitely not strategic from the Russians just like communist don't normally plan on killing millions of their own people. It just happens.

They were planning to pull back to the Urals if shtf and had shipped alot of industry there already. The sad part is the Russians paid a terrible price in human life. I'm reading Stalingrad by the same author you mentioned and those poor Russian soldiers had it incredibly rough in the Red Army.

Regarding German attack to Russia you also need to take into account that campaign was delayed due to Balkan intervention which affected motorised troops.
From the point of initial strategy, Russians had none, basically they were throwing troops in the meat grinder.
Basic war of attrition until they picked up armament production and training.
Big disservice to to Russia was Stalin's officer purge before and earlier in the war.

"Bye-bye Tucker Carlson!" T-Mobile CEO Mike Sievert tweeted earlier this week in response to consumers who criticized the advertisers on Carlson's show.

Sievert said on Twitter that T-Mobile hasn't bought any air time on "Tucker Carlson Tonight" for "about a month, and we won't be in the future, either."

Carlson's Fox News show has once again become a target of critics and a no-go zone for some advertisers. Liberal groups have called out Carlson's advertisers and encouraged customers to take action.


The proximate cause: Carlson's comments about the Black Lives Matter movement. "This may be a lot of things, this moment we're living through, but it is definitely not about black lives," Carlson said Monday night. "Remember that when they come for you, and at this rate, they will."

What many people heard Carlson telling his nearly 100% white audience was black-people-are-coming-for-you. The next day, Fox came out with a statement attempting to clarify: "Tucker's warning about 'when they come for you' was clearly referring to Democratic leaders and inner city politicians."

Media Matters, an advocacy group that opposes Fox, re-shared a list it keeps of Carlson's sponsors. Sievert from T-Mobile spoke out on Tuesday. Papa John's Pizza said on Wednesday it would halt future advertising.
