George Floyd death

Go for a cop's weapon , you are going to die .
Going for anyones weapon is an *almost* certain way to die .
You're wasting your time explaining reality to people on this forum. They all think policing is like Hawaii Five-0 and Blue Bloods. These are the same people who probably think police should just shoot suspects in the foot or something, because they think real life is COD or Battlefield.

He was running away with the cops taser. A taser is not lethal and does not deserve a bullet. Anyway, if he did fire the taser, he missed!

He was shot in the back.
Not lethal, and yet the District Attorney charges 3 policemen last month in Georgia saying that their use of a taser was the use of a lethal weapon. The same DA that's now saying that a taser is not a lethal weapon all of a sudden when it's directed at a policeman. The shooting was lawful, expect the policeman to get off due to that.

So what if he missed...? Do you think the real world is a TV show? He was shot as the guy turned around to fire the taser. What if he didn't miss and hit the cop...? So now you have 1 cop down being stunned. This man has demonstrated that he can take on 2 cops physically. What if he were to run to the stunned cop and take his gun...? This scenario I described is literally why police shoot suspects who refuse to drop a weapon that can incapacitate a policeman.

Now how would the cops know that he didnt make off with the other ones firearm ?
Lesson learned from this , do not try to steal a cop's gun , it can end badly.

You can see from a distance that it is a taser, the cops knew it was a taser. One of the cops even said, "He took my frikken taser". They knew it was a taser. They still shot him in the back. That cop is in big trouble. Much more so than the Floyd cop.

That wasn't unclear but your first answer was. But yeah, I disagree 100%. Even if I don't disagree with you, it doesn't matter. New generations will discard the relics of former generations. These are emblems of an evil period of history, and if the government won't remove them peacefully, the people will do it forcefully. Many of the Confederate statues had years of opportunities to be moved to museums or other such places, and petitions, and everything else. There aren't any more statues of Hitler in Berlin, for a good reason.

Ultimately people take the law into their own hands. And those people aren't always the most informed - I've seen the cases where they vandalized statues of people who were anti-abolitionists.

Then you should also be fine with memorial statues of soldiers being destroyed. Some might see them as evil.

You know why cops shoot people with gun shaped objects ,including toy guns ?
You wanna know why cops shoot people if they approach within 21 feet ?
You wanna know why they are right to do these things ?

You do know that cops use tasers on themselves in training right? To test the effect. If it is so lethal then why would they do that.

Sure if you have a heart condition, then it might be an issue, but a guy running away from you with a taser (that you fire at friends in training) is not a lethal weapon. There were two cops. Neither of them were incapacitated. Once he had fired the taser that was it. That cop is not going to get off. He shot the guy in the back, twice. He's in for a world of judicial hurt.

Oh please get off your high horse you know statues are mostly BS and hold no historical significance to anything but a vanity project. Look at the dutchman look at the ANC all vanity BS.

Do we need Victoria no, do we need Paul Kruger no, do we need statues of Madiba no it's all garbage vanity.

Do I need to repeat your own words to you again?

1) It didn’t say “black students”. It said any students affected. Only people like you would think that George Floyd’s death only affected black people.

The heads of house signatories of this letter will alert college tutors, senior tutors, tutors for graduates and welfare staff to the potential need here, and will urge those colleagues to reach out to any Black students who may be experiencing difficulty at this time.

They knew exactly what it was. The cop even said it out loud.

You wanna know why cops shoot people if they approach within 21 feet ?

What?! They should take a lesson from British cops, if possible, don't kill the suspect. Don't know what this 21 feet business is but it sounds like absolute overkill, unless the person has a gun.

You wanna know why they are right to do these things ?

They aren't right, they sound like hyped up super soldiers with itchy trigger fingers who shoot at the drop of a hat. Like I said they need to take some lessons from the British police.

Toy guns and airguns will get you killed if you point it at cops , removal of the orange tip from airsoft guns is also illegal ,There is a reason for this.

21 feet is the minimum distance you can hope to survive an attack with a knife or unarmed etc , if the suspect is closer than 21 feet , you are in massive danger.

British police lock you up for posting facts online about "asian grooming gangs" , hardly a model to aspire to .
Also they have hell of a time with machete gangs now , they should turn back to the US model.

Edit - they were right to shoot him simply because he showed he was a threat and there was a possibility of further threats developing due to him.

Edit 2 - pretty sure its illegal to shoot someone with an airgun here too , despite it not being considered a deadly weapon by many people.
