George Floyd death

Has it been asked why GF behaved so violently when he was apprehended for tendering a counterfeit $ note in the shop?
He was high on methamphetamine
As cops will tell you, people thus under the influence have 3 to 5 times their normal strength
He did not live the kind and gracious lifestyle that has been portrayed
He had a baggie of heroin on him
Two autopsies reveal a high concentration of drugs in his system (fentynal and heroin)

This does not excuse the excessive force applied by the policeman, but may explain why such harsh treatment was deemed to be necessary, at that time

All will hopefully be revealed in court

He might be a criminal, but he didn't behave violently at all when they apprehended him.

It should have already been the time to have BLM heard within the appropriate venue where they may be globally heard by leaderships. Currently, BLM is more a decentralised global collective, and there isn’t a single voice or leadership council which represents their movement as a whole. Yes, they do have chapters, but do these chapters represent all? They are setting themselves up as a doctrine (yes, they are a human rights movement) where they demand change, where it may be systemic accepted and institutionalised to address the ‘known’ disparities, but where continues, and additional, demands may invalidate their cause. I also don't believe that the BLM chapters have any control at the moment.

The USA needs to address its policing. I don’t necessarily believe that they come short with their standards, but that they need to amend their protocols and abide by said amended protocols. Many cases are situational, and these situational circumstances require proper investigation than immediate social critique. You know, there are black US cops too. Behavioural codes need to be overhauled, but not all causes are related to the police – there are duty and mandate. I don't agree with the police brutality, but there is merit where police aggression applies. I don't agree with violent protests, but they do have a right to have their voices heard, however, it shouldn't encourage civil disobedience in terms with the law. To say that insurance will cover the damages... yeah, no. The moment an occupied residence is targeted where people sleep with children, patience will immediately run dry, and I am sure it will be blamed on some other group. When you rise up, you also need to be accountable and this is applicable to all parties and participants.

BLM is targeting white supremacism in the means to liberate black people. They want white people to admit their white guilt, but to what end? The purpose to have white people relinquish their ‘white’ privileges? Here where we live it is done by law to bring redress to a ‘racist’ and ‘colonial’ economy, and society, and police and SANDF brutality is simply blamed on an Apartheid legacy. Where the BLM have chapters, they are minorities in the US, UK and Canada. There needs to be an alignment when calling on a global change, otherwise, it is conditionally entrenched. History tends to be repeated due to it either being ignored or changed.

Just my 2c.

Low expectations I guess, people don't expect a lot from our cops and army, the fact that "The Greatest country in the world" has these problems is what creates interest.
desensitized is probably more accurate.
police brutality in this country is that pervasive that it is barely newsworthy.

take the jokers protesting outside parliament - in solidarity with floyd.
they magnanimously give collins khosa & marikana a side mention in their statement, evidently what happens to an american in america, is of more relevance to them than what happens to their very own people in their own country.

ramaphosa issues a press statement regards floyd, yet calls the killing of 11 of his own citizens by his security establishment as "over enthusiastic". he did not have much to say about the massacre that took place under his watch at marikana.
then we have mido macia, tied and dragged behind a police van.

i was one of those conscripted into "national service" to defend the national party government, landing up spending a significant portion of that time in various durban townships.
the callous violence of the police was staggering, eveready batteries put into guns instead of rubber bullets for the sole purpose of critically injuring or killing people at close range, thereby sidestepping "laws" regarding the use of live ammunition. bodies piled up outside the offices of kwa-mashu police station - left on display for a few days as a "warning" to the locals.

as a nation, have we become immune to local violence, quickly lurching on from one incident to the next.
much of the police brutality in this country takes place in poorer communities, that schit would never be tolerated for a minute going down in camps bay, sandton, constantia etc, not even for a solitary moment.
something is broken.
i think back to the high drama surrounding oscar pistorious and the murder of reeva steenkamp. the shrill voices were deafening, but at the very same time anene booysen had been gang raped and disemboweled in bredasdorp - the same "voices of justice" were mute .

do we really have a right to point fingers at the mess in someone else's front garden, when our own back garden is a scene of carnage ?
are we selectively outraged, why are we even holding america to higher standards - or are we applying a bit of the soft bigotry of lower standard and expectation upon ourselves ?

Retired black officer David Dorn killed by looters in St. Louis, police say
David Dorn, a retired black police captain in St. Louis, died during widespread unrest on Tuesday.

Dorn, 77, was "murdered last night by a looter," while guarding a pawn shop, city officials told reporters, adding that surveillance tools would be used to identify the criminals.

St. Louis' "Ethical Society of Police," founded in 1972 by black officers to address corruption and racial discrimination, mourned the captain's loss.

"He was the type of brother that would’ve given his life to save them if he had to. Violence is not the answer, whether it’s a citizen or officer. RIP Captain!" the organization tweeted.

did i miss the riots and looting in protest of this killing, or does this black life not matter so much for some inexplicable reason ?

Course not, has no anti-white hook you know its only those that count.

Accurately assessing what factor race actually plays and the reasons for it instead of synthetically making it either irrelevant or all-important depending on personal agenda?
Why not other factors like:
Foot size
Hair colour
Length of the index finger.

?

The reason why I can make it irrelevant right now is because it doesn't really describe anything useful in most cases as it is a fuzzy concept describing a statistically large population. Which means you will be getting a normal distribution with a very wide standard deviation.

Take something that causes lots of trouble like IQ, where there are reported "racial" differences. Except if you look at the distributions of it there are large amounts of overlaps between the different "races". This means that you cannot accurately infer someone's intelligence based on their race. It only works in one direction, that is, if you know someone has a high or a low IQ, you can only then infer what the probability of them being black or white is. Which is meaningless, since the thing that is actually important, is IQ.

Can the lunatic radical leftist please shut up about the bible picture now please.

It should also be noted that the photograph of Clinton was not preceded by law enforcement forcibly clearing the area of peaceful protesters, as they did for Trump. Furthermore, the photograph of Clinton was taken after he attended a church service, while the image of Trump was not immediately preceded or followed by a church service.

So one was a taken after an actual service, one was a staged photo-op - you can be the judge of which is which..
