True but i mean their name is -Special weapons and tactics , i would assume they would be militarized to a point (they were just using slightly different equipment etc in the beginning.).
They are also a very small percentage afaik and were specifically setup for violent confrontations.

Just dropped in to say the marches finally made it to Tampa.
It was peaceful, typical Floridian (laid back) ...... families pitched up, buying a T shirt for $25.
(South African looks at this T shirt idea, does conversion - around R800 for two politically correct T shirts, nah not going to happen)
A few marshals directing the crowd - nice folks.
Apparently the chap being co-commemorated was a guy called Jonas Joseph ..... his family chatted a bit, inaudible ...
Black, White, Asian and Hispanic, all chatty, and agreement all round, nobody wants to run into a vrot cop.
Prayers and smiles, and a bunch of folks registering voters ..... no animosity.

Hops in car and heads east back to Seminole County, having a walk and lunch at Central florida Zoo .......

The city council in Buffalo, New York, voted this week to call on State Attorney General Letitia James to investigate the 2008 firing of Black officer Cariol Horne, who stopped a white colleague from choking a suspect while making an arrest.

The incident occurred in 2006, and Horne was fired two years later because the Buffalo Police Department claimed Horne had put her fellow officers at risk, including the white officer, Gregory Kwiatkowski, whom she stopped after he put the suspect in a chokehold.

Buffalo is now asking the state to look into the reasons why Horne was fired.


"Now with so much attention being on the present and what some officers have done negatively, it is very difficult for some people to move forward if we have not repaired the past," Buffalo Common Council President Darius Pridgen told local NBC News affiliate WGRZ.

The New York Attorney General’s office declined to comment on Buffalo’s request. The Buffalo Police Department and Horne could not be immediately reached to address the case.

I would be. We have a very cool concept ready that deals with convergence of technology in security. I think we are onto something.

If blacks keep getting shot as per the usual stats, then the US wont survive the summer.

Blacks need to react the same way whites do when their people get shot.
 
It's going to be interesting when the police officer who is charged with George's killing gets acquitted in his trial.

I say acquitted, because they charged him with 1st degree murder, this will be impossible to prove. As any lawyer will tell you.

Also, kneeling on someone's neck is standard procedure in the Minneapolis police precinct. He was doing what he was trained to do. And, if someone can speak it means they can breathe.

Interesting times ahead.
