As quite a few people here know that my GSD Rex died yesterday who was our guard dog and our security.

We are looking for a GSD pup to train up to be our next security guard asap before the grapevine hits the local news in town as we got workers fixing our house at the moment.

Anyone know where to look for a Purebred GSD pup with registered papers and registered parents with the full health check and everything, even a forum would help as I generally found the newspapers ads never hold water?

Is that all you see a dog as? One dies, and the next day you're already looking for a replacement?

My advice, get an alarm with motion sensors throughout your property...

Ja shame the poor baby isn't even cold in his grave.
Find a registered breeder. Don't buy gumtree dogs and don't support backyard breeders. Responsible reputable breeders will have their dogs genetically tested (hip scores etc). If they don't, then they are backyard breeders.

As it is my moms dog she asked me today to look for possible puppies, I am allergic to dogs, but fine with my cats so I never really get to bond with them like my cats.

Is there a site to find breeders who are on the register roll?

shame sorry for your loss

gumtree is good ...but be very wary

Going to try asking the local breeders and trainers to see if they know anyone as I don't trust ads.

cause some are scared of dogs ....and not alarm systems

Pretty much they won't come near our yard when they saw our two GSD and told everyone to stay away.

Nothing wrong with having a dog purely as a guard dog. Why do you think people have been breading them all these centuries?
I'm more of a Guard dog / companion person than just a guard dog. But that is me.

How about adopting a dog rather? I'm sure you can find a nice scary guard dog at your local SPCA.

Needs to be a puppy so it can get use to my cats and I haven't seen any GSD puppies there yet, my cats all come from the SPCA.

Thanks so much

My mom uses them for the Guard dog / companion she loves her dogs so much.

About the poisoning unless they can get behind our house to the backyard where they are at it won't be possible to throw something over 30 metres, we also keep them in the house and the closed veranda half the time.
