Note entirely sure you can do this, rather put it in your signature and/or reply to people who are looking for services.

Im curious
Do you use other peoples templates or design your sites from scratch?

Both! Depending on what is required. I can design unique html driven sites from scratch too.

I only use templates (which I customize) when a CMS such as Wordpress, Joomla etc is required.

I do not agree with the 'get what you pay for statement'.

The past ten years I make use of services such as www.getafreelancer.com and other online freelancing sites. I had projects where local companies, as well as American companies, quoted me R100 000 - R200 000 for complex sites.

On these freelancer sites I got these projects done for less than $100 (R700). You get some great programmers in Eastern Europe countries, even in India, who can do these projects for next to nothing!

If you are interested in big projects, try it out, sign up at these sites and post your project.

Rather than paying for a website I went and bought myself Serif Webplus X2 and now I wont look back ... it's great software (though the only downside is there was no printed manual! Oh well!)

I'd love to see your designs

Why? I'm not in the designing business though. I bought it to do a business website for my mother and if I ever need it in the future I can use it. But if you wanna look you can go here .... www.whitewings.co.za

No piece of software will replace a site design and anything that claims it can sucks.

Please refer to my numerous amounts of posts stating the difference between a graphic designer, a web designer and a web developer.

You portray yourself as a web designer, hence... I'd like to see your designs. It's not bad at all (I've seen a lot worse from people who actually make a living designing sites), but I'd get rid of the splash-screen intro to the site because it deters people from the information they really want/need. 2 clicks and you should be at the information you're looking for. Currently yours ranges from 3-5 clicks depending. There's enough screen real-estate to have the bird you have on the splash screen as a background image top left perhaps

Also, instead of having a naming convention of Page1.htm...Page2.htm, give them a better descriptive name. For example: page3.html could be about_white_wings.html or page2.html could be our_home.html or something similar.

I'd also drop the link back to the "splash screen" type entry, it's not needed and could lead to some negative page rank

Lastly the footer bit I'd make a little less "pronounced". I know it's your mom's website and all, but take a look of several other sites (business/ecommerce sites) and how the "Designed & Maintained by" bit at the bottom looks like. Also don't see this as me attacking you or anything. A lot of people do that and then for some reason common sense is thrown out the window and they go ahead with their ignorant ways... either or. Your choice to take some of the advice.

You must be very lucky, we've had 3 development companies outsource to us after programmers from India left them in a pickle. In the years I've been in web development I've NEVER come across a company that did work for cheap and that did a genuinely good job in the end.

Me neither. I don't even charge as cheap as they are and you could say I'm hard up for business. After 10 years I just know what is possible in what time frame and how much it will cost to do realistically.

And working with programmers from India? Ha... when I was in Dubai and now as well working with mostly overseas clients, I can tell you now there doesn't exist a single GOOD programmer from India (not even Pakistan...). It's like they picked up their diplomas from a lucky packet and added "7 years" work experience and they can't even do simple debugging (takes me 2 min to isolate/fix a problem, but explaining how to do it and what to look for and "teaching" this 7 year programming genius took several days.... in the end I gave up)

HAHA ACID I don't recall him asking you how to OPTIMISE the site?
