"It could cost a national cricketer more than a million rand a year to divorce his wife."

Gibbs in trouble again.

Damn, she wants to take him for about R96k per month! Apparently, she said "she estimated that his total earnings would amount to at least R7.3-million"

Reckon there is some IPL money in there, or is that about normal for SA Cricketers?

Foooook me, why the hell would she be intitled to that.... focking gold digger

he should take this 7m and offer it to her

end of story :)

no kids involved so i highly doubt she will get 96k a month

Yeah, no kids, she wont get as much as that.

wheren't they like only married a year ago?goes thru wives quicker than cricketbats i guess...

She said she and Gibbs had enjoyed a lavish lifestyle, to which she had become accustomed. "I have a clear right to maintain the status quo which prevailed immediately prior to (Gibbs) commencing with his unacceptable behaviour and demanding that the marriage ends without further efforts at rescuing the relationship."

I doubt, after one year of marriage, that the courts will grant you over a million a year to keep you in the style that you have become accustomed to. Maybe Gibbs wanted to prevent access to his accounts and credit card because her lavish lifestyle was getting out of control and she was becoming too accustomed to it. Is it a case of "til death do us part" or is it "til credit card do us part"?

Its crazy expecting that much especially when you've been married for less than a year. She won't get it, but still.

Chris Rock's jokes about a pre-nup come to my mind. :D

Chris Rock: When it's time to get a divorce, women got it made. You go to court, start talkin' that sh?t. "I'm used to this, I'm used to that. I'm accustomed to this." What the f?ck is accustomed? Whats that got to do with ****? You go to a restaurant, you accustomed to eatin'. You leave, you ain't eatin' no more. They don't owe you a steak. What about what the man's used to? It might not be money, but during the course of a relationship, a man grows accustomed to a few things. I would love to see a man go to court and say, "Your honor, check this out. I'm accustomed to f?ckin' her four times a week. Now I feel I should be able to f?ck her at least twice a week. I mean she can have the alimony, but I want some p?ssy payments."

:D:D:D

Guess that ends the speculation as to whether he'll be retiring.
Some bills to pay now.

His wife isn't too bad looking,
