Gift your Ex gave you?

Hi everyone!

So here's the thing towards the end of my last relationship my Ex gave me a pretty nice watch, its nothing too expensive just a Fossil. A little after that she proceeded to screw me over terribly and we broke up. So I never wear that watch.

I am now in a new relationship with someone I really love for nearly 3 years, who has given me a pretty sweet Seiko!

So my question is...Would you keep the watch your Ex gave you even if you don't wear it? Just as a reminder of the good memories. Or would you flog it off and forget about it?
 
Flog it. Don't let old luggage weigh down a new relationship.
 
It depends if you miss her or not. It most cases people would forget about it and stack it somewhere where it can gather dust.

I received lots of gifts from my past relationships, and I never tend to wear or use any of the gifts anymore
 
Give it to your current girlfriend and tell her if she ever breaks up with you she can give it to her next boyfriend.

lol its just a watch...wear it dont wear it...you really dont have to attach it to your past unless you still hanging onto your past...but from what it sounds like you've moved on so i dont see the problem....

You are guy, seriously it is just a watch man. Why do people need to attach all this emotional kuk to items. I can understand females doing it because they are well different but i cannot understand why men do it.
 
Even thinking about weither to sell it or keep it doesnt really look good for your relationship...specially if you have sentimental value in that watch. dude dont sell or keep it. Take a ten pound hammer and smash the memories of her into a million pieces and work on your current relationship.

Why do they give you watches?
 
Is it a nice watch?
If it is and you'll wear it again then keep it.
UNLESS...the new gf bought you the new watch to get rid of the old watch.
Then definitely get rid of it...

HW&R has certainly become an Advice thread recently.
 
Whether or not you attach any emotional value to it if you ever wear if your current gf will be pissed off (especially as she's given you a replacement watch). Either smash the thing or flog it or just give it to someone in the street.
 
If your new gf finds out that you've kept the watch your ex bought for you, there will be blood.
 
Go give it to a charity. Xmas is the perfect time for giving and you don't use the thing anyway.
