Giga 200 Availability

Has anyone managed to get a Giga200, I need one urgently ?

I picked one up at Fourways Mall this morning. The staff were a bit confused and tried to describe the features of the post-paid Giga 20 when I asked, but the R1799 price tag told me I was on the right track.

Just installed it in place of the 8ta sim - what a relief! Ping down from 140ms to 40ms, upload up from .3mbps to 1.5mbps. It's good to be back!

What's the download like?

Managed to get one at Cell C East Rand Mall yesterday. She said they only had a few, but I always take that as a marketing ploy.

N1 City Mall - no stock and no idea when they will have

Got mine at Centurion Mall on Fri 9 Nov, was in and out of there with a RICA'd SIM in no time, zero hassles. Just no free coffee this time...my only complaint :p

There are two Cell C stores in Centurion Mall, BTW. I was at the one next to the Vodashop (entrance #1 I think).

Edit: Forgot to mention, it was a prepaid SIM, not sure if they have stock of the contract version

Just got one at Canal Walk.

I'd love to know how you managed that - I was in the Cell-C store at Canal Walk just after noon yesterday and they told me that they'd had 5 enquiries today and 18 since friday, no stock of the SIMs, no idea when they'd be getting them but maybe I should come back on Monday (today). Needless to say, I was furious. I thought launching a product in the media and only shipping it later was patented by a certain company with headquarters in Redmond...

After many atempts yesterday, I managed to get through to them on the phone. The lady I spoke to said the SIMs had arrived.
I went in to the store and asked for one, but the gentleman assisting me said the stock hadn't come in yet. I asked him if he was sure, because I had been told otherwise on the phone. He disappeared into the back of the store and appeared a few minutes later with a SIM card.

It is quite amazing how uninformed sales staff can be.

So I went to Cell C in Durban, dressed in my jeans and casual t-shirt with a youthful spring in my step, hoping to purchase me one of them giga specials - queried this deal with the guy behind the counter, sadly he unconvincingly glared at me like I was

asking him to solve

c'mon Cell C, I want to support you, but please, ensure your people are well informed before hand.

TAKE TWO:

Again, ventured into a Cell C store in Durban today. Greeted by an enthusiastic salesman, who was friendly and willing to assist. Cautiously optimistic, I inquired about the Giga 200, and was informed that stock was available. Grinning and armed with my ID and RICA documents, I take my wallet out to purchase when he suddenly asked "cash or card?", I reply "card", he responds by saying the machine is out of order. So I ask him when will it be fixed, he says it's been out of order for a month. Deflated and now rather annoyed, I gathered my documents, and left.

Sometimes I got to wonder if people take their business seriously. A MONTH Cell C, that's really obscene in anyone's book. Or, is it just possible they didn't want to pay the 5% bank service fees?

Maybe third time lucky??

I would like to buy the Giga 200 prepaid SIM-only package and need to know what are my options ito a 21.6 Mbps Speed Stick that is compatible with Windows XP and Windows 7.
Would the Huawei E1820 be the best option or would the Huawei E367 be right? How do the prices compare?
Firstly we do not do Giganite on pre paid we only do it on postpaid data contracts as a value added service. We have the R149 for 10 Gigs and then the 20 Gigs for R249. We have a pre paid offers Sim only for 24Gigs over 12 months for R1299. We also have a 3GB Sim for 599 but its valid for 365 days and not on a month basis.
I did not ask about Giganite but about the new Giga 200 which will be launched in 3 days time! Please see http://www.techcentral.co.za/cell-c-cuts-deep-on-data-prices/35935/ for further details and advise me as to which speedstick would be compatible.
The Huawei E1820 we don’t do as we have the ZTE MF668 and it should work. If it was that’s it a older computer I would’ve said go for the Huawei E1752 as we still sell that.
The Huawei E1752 is only 7.2Mbps and the ZTE MF668 apparently will work on my Windows XP pc but not on the Windows 7 laptop. I am looking for 21.6 Mbps capacity which will work for both Windows XP and Windows 7. Also the prices, please.
Sir then the only way to go is then to use a wireless router Huawei E586 that will work on both it cost 1499.
Amen! I have not yet gathered enough stamina to attempt actually getting the goods ... the simplest enquiry was exhausting enough

This deal should be available by now as I have purchased the Prepaid Giga200 bundle today and have not yet tried it out, but I assume this deal will be available in other CellC stores as well.

Personally I think the announcement from CellC about availability from 8 November 2012 was misleading as the store that I bought it from and the Sandton City CellC store did not have it available on 8 November 2012. Just glad I finally got it. :)

Where did you get it from? I called the Northgate branch yesterday and they didn't have stock (and "had no idea" when they would have). I couldn't get through to the Sandton City branch, they weren't answering.
