Can anyone offer some help?
I just signed up with an account with Giganews and now want to D/L something.
How does this damn thing work? Where do you search for stuff?
Thanks
Feel stoopid:rolleyes::cool:

So basically you have to first search for the stuuf and then use Giganews to retrieve it?
You can basically do the same thing as you are now (the SAIX server are giganews btw)

Unless they have a comprehensive search feature like easynews that also allows you to download zipped files?

like this

0) get Giganews Accelerator™ Software

1) get news reader, grabit or newsbinpro (the best one)

2) setup account username and password with one of these servers from
http://www.giganews.com/performance.html - looking at which one is the fastest for you

3) get nzb's from newzleech, newzbin, yabse, binsearch

4) open nzb and sit back have beer

5) decompress archives (if it was archived and not in the 'raw' like .avi or .mp3) if not done so automatically by the newsearder

6) if errors use the .par files to fix with quickpar

Yes, so basically the AXXESS Saix R12/gig is probably the best option to go to.

Thanks guys for your knowledge
You wont be able to access the faster giganews servers via local only bandwidth.

Oh I thought that due to them mirroring Giganews, you could use the local only and get that speed using news.axxess.co.za
I doubt it but if it works I'd keep it to yourself (after pm'ing me of course. ;))

What speeds do you generally get from the SAIX server?
During the evening it can get quite fast on occasion - even up to full speed. During the day (including right now) it crawls.

Look, on SAIX intl account, I am getting about 400-600k.

On IS Local only, I get about 10-20k

On SAIX(AXXESS - local only) 130-250k but it keeps stopping and starting all the time and it is damn irritatin.
Problem is Routesentry does not work properly as well so....
