Girlfriend letting go

Not disputing some people pick up weight. There are LOTS of women who suffer the same but have zero weight gain.

My biggest hick-up was him being disgusted by it, now he's ok with it :o

This. How will he feel if she gets treatment, but still doesn't lose the weight?

Don't see how this would affect her weight...

O so now her weight doesn't bother you? :D

PCOS can cause weight gain, as well as body hair growth; acne, and irregular periods.

The weight gain is triggered by male hormones. So women with PCOS develop an apple shape, as opposed to a pear shape.

Sounds like a nightmare....

So just to update, she has PCOS.

This was one of the top 5 most unpleasant conversations i have had in my life.

Because PCOS is marked by a decrease in female sex hormones, this condition may cause women to develop certain masculine characteristics, such as:

  • excess hair on the face, chest, stomach, thumbs, or toes
  • decrease in breast size
  • deeper voice
  • hair loss

Nice to to see you standing by your girl.
She is going to need all support that she can get.

Dont worry mate, this is NOT the end of the world... there are many treatments for PCOS and its quiet common nowadays... i've been down that road with my SO, once she was diagosed, 6 months later, it was all gone... proper medication for treatment, good excersize regime and a balanced diet... BTW.. she needs o avoid sugary stuff like the plague... until she's back to normal...

PCOS is incurable, but yes it can be managed. No going back to normal eating habits unless you want to considerably shorten your life.

A friend of mine has PCOS(her mom also has it) and she took a few cannabis buds, put them into a bottle of whiskey, then drinks half a cap full every day, seems to have stimulated weight loss, and I bet the anti-inflammatory effects of the cannabis eases the pain linked to the PCOS. It is true that everything affects everyone differently, but it might be worth investigating. Also do a bit of research into Periwinkle, the plants are fairly common and there are a couple of different variants, but they have shown some significant improvements in cancer patients and people suffering from MS(Multiple Sclerosis)

But seriously the weight had to come from calories. Science.

Is there a case of a POW with this disorder. No.

Strictly speaking, yes.

But what you don't realize is that the calories out part of the equation is not constant and even depends on the calories in part of the equation.

Fat loss or gain is definitely not as simple as calories in vs calories out - it actually has a lot more to do with hormones than anything else.
