gmail down on voda 3g again?

I've also been having problems with Vodacom4me + Vodacomsp [both Vodasurf and the new vodacomsp site]. But then again, vodacomsp has -always- been disturbingly slow, which leads me to believe it's not a 3G/GPRS issue but rather a server issue on Vodacom's side.

My 3G speeds have dropped in general though the last 2 weeks, dunno if it's uptake/congestion/port shaping/towertweaking, but i simply don't seem to get the 15-20 kilybytes p/sec i used to get before, instead it's more like 4-8 kilobytes p/sec.(And GPRS have actually outperformed my 3G at certain times).

mmm, What is the work around to get your monthly usage then ? Other than maybe phone the help desk?
It was crap not getting my usage on the last day -cause I was eager to download, but could not check my limit. The flacky dash does little to help with usage meter problem as well.
Vodacom4me has not worked the entire week!!!
Is it only limited to some users?

V3G please let us know if something is on the cards for improvement! Thanks

 not sure what GMail has to do with usage meter - is it that you've setup usage meter emails to get sent to your GMail account, and due to problems accessing GMail you haven't been able to access your usage meter emails:confused:

The original complaint was that people could not access Gmail. This then broadened to a genearl problem with resolving IP addresses, which in turn led to vodacom4me.co.za being the prime example of the problem.

.... and once again

and once again gmail not available on 3g. but is on dialup etc.

can someone tell us how to set up gmail with outlook or pop in general.

On your web gmail account, go to 'settings' (top right). On the next page, click on 'forwarding and POP'. There are detailed instructions there for setting it up for any of the POPular (sorry!) clients

You can get pop setup instructions on gmail by logging in to your gmail account, clicking on "settings", clicking on the "forwarding and pop" tab, and then clicking on "configuration instructions". You'll find instructions for a wide range of email clients. Hope that helps :)

Ps. This is of course assuming that you've enabled pop under the "forwarding and pop" tab! ;)

Edit: Or you can just ignore this post as magus beat me to it! :)
