so someone who tried to provide a balanced outlook is a troll and someone who gets drunk and comes to a forum swearing and making things up isn't? I think if you have a problem you need to PM it or STFU

I agree with VT here, MyADSL is a consumerism forum at its core, and SA needs consumers to wake uk out of their deep slumber & force changes - that happens by voicing how unhappy one is about x - whatever x might be. There is another thing to consider: our democratic constition enshrines the right to freedom of speech, and telling forumites "STFU" really is not showing tollerance.

look this has nothing to do with the topic at hand, wait for better days or make the switch to adsl, so please, and i'm asking with respect just shut up, make another thread if you want to say crap about me or PM it, make a website, tell the newspaper but you don't have to go into everythread I post in to do this, if you disagree with somethign I say then be an adult and just agree to disagree, no one comes to this forum to read about your emotional problems. Please, dude seriously, please just leave it here, you have plenty of other avenues if you want to tell everyone what a d1ck I am. Even though I can tell you right now, no one other than people liek you care because I know I don't come to this forum to watch a soap opera, I come to get facts, share facts and gauge the opinion of iBurst users.

i didn't tell you to shut up i asked you to, look what you're doing, youre just twisting somethign (this topic) some people had an opinion about into somethign about you (and how you just want to fight), something about egos. I don't come here to fight, I'm not a little kid and you can say all the crap you want just please don't do it here, make your own thread about how I suck. Keep the topic on track, fights don't belong on any thread and this is my last reply on that topic.

Three things:

1) If a user gets Iburst, and finds it unsuitable, then they should ditch it and get something else, but if WBS don't deliver the service they sell, users have a right to bitch and moan, and post their complaints here.

2) I like Slimothy. He makes many excellent, useful and practical contributions to this forum. The personal attacks on him in this thread are a disgrace.

3) His connection is not one of a kind.
 
It's noone's right to tell OR ask another forumite to shut up, just like I am not suggesting that Slimothy or VT shut up.

Ignoring the "STFU" quip in post #1 [which I suspect tipped the scales of this thread & sparked off all this], I think what Slimothy is saying is click on http://www.telkom.co.za/adsl and order online right now if you have the potential to receive ADSL in your area. I did that last month, I am still waiting for Telkomonopoly to get back to me about the copper quality tests or whatever it is. So, you may as well do as Slimothy suggests right now - do the online application or call in to apply - bcos it can take a heck of a long time, best not to delay, and if iBurst works out, just cancel the ADSL appl before Telkomonopoly come to do the installation.

I would just ignore the requests that everyone stops complaining in this forum - that's just not going to happen - just like you don't see forumites telling one another to stop posting compliments.

I have to say that some of the stuff posted would have been better in a p.m. or not said at all, and that's on both sides BTW.

Conclusion: Agree to disagree :).

PS: I tend to agree that this thread is not helping anyone, and have therefore closed it, if you disagree, you can motivate reopening in a p.m. to me, or the other moderators.
