I have now installed this launcher, and it's pretty awesome. What I like especially is the sliding dock, where you slide it to get to more shortcuts. But there are small things which makes me go back to TouchWiz, and they are the email and message icons that do not show the amount of new/unread mails/messages, and the fact that I cannot add a S Planner widget on an open screen, it just creates a shortcut icon.

There seems to be a lot of pros here, so can anyone please assist me with this? Small things like these are a dealbreaker for me. Well, I can add GO Calendar Widget, but the icons are the thing that bothers me.

Here is a screenshot. The last two icons is the dock are for SMS and Emails, and although there are messages, they do now show the amount, as TouchWiz does.

Why not try out Nova launcher? I also started out with Go Launcher, but also found it lacking in some areas. Moved to Nova and haven't looked back.

Nova launcher with TeslaUnread plugin will show notification count. Both free, but I did buy Nova Prime just because it rocks face.

Nova launcher unread icon look like this:

Thanks guys, I'll try GO with the notification plugin, and will take Nova for a test drive as well. :)

EDIT: Ok, this seems to work for me. Had to remove the icons from the dock and re-add them. Awesome.

Used to run GO. Not to fond of it now, seem to bloated. Moved to Nova prime - install TeslaUnread for the notifications...

Example?

AFAIK TeslaUnread only works with Prime.

Speed, Nova seems more responsive. I also don't like the modular method it uses with the Go Store where you can install a million different apps for it, a lot of people might like this but I just like a launcher to be simple and lightweight.

Yep I think so, but you install it separately from the Play Store.

GO Launcher is for first time Android users.

It's bloated, sucks and leaks system RAM and just a platform to get more money out of you from buying different themes, etc.

Nova Launcher Prime is where it's at.

Used GO Launcher. Bloated.
Used z- launcher (think that's the name). Very minimalistic. Meh.

Always find myself turning back to SE's default launcher (TimeScape I think)

I have now gone back to TouchWiz, only because of the GO Notification application being so erratic, only works when it wants to. Sometimes it will show the number of new messages, sometimes it won't. When there is a new email and you open the inbox, the number disappears regardless whether you opened the mail or not. I would have thought it should still show the amount of unread messages. What I do like is the WhatsApp notifications, does TeslaUnread have this? Btw, I don't use Gmail on my phone, but Exchange ActiveSync.

Don't think TeslaUnread works on WhatsApp, but does work on Mail (this includes Exchange), Gmail, Missed Calls and SMS messages.

So I purchased Nova Prime, and then I realized you cannot change the dock background. So much for customizing. :( GO would have been awesome if the notification app actually worked properly, Nova cannot change dock background, OK then, back to TouchWiz before I waste any more time.

But TouchWiz = far less customizable. No?
