BAD NEWS - Smith won't be available for the ODI's and twenty20 games. He has a little problem with his elbow

Hundred bucks says we loose :( (It is the Proteas afterall)

The same team that beat Australia on their home soil in the last 2 tests and the same team to ever win a test series in Australia? What more do they have to do before some people refer to them with confidence?

Agreed, in the test arena in any event, they've showed tremendous resilience and have been the form team of 2008. It's their OD form that worries me a bit. After a fantastic test series win against England in England they capitulated, in stunning fashion, 4-0 (was it) in the OD series..

Yeah, we have a very weak and young ODI team captained by Johan Botha of all twits. He's done nothing IMO to warrant his spot in the team, let alone captaincy. Crap off-spinner and batsman se gat!!! We have some really good talent coming through in the domestic champs and yet we still persevere with incompetent off spinners in limited over matches - defies logic IMO...

1 - I don't gamble my cash
2 - What more do they have to do to impress you?
3 - What have they done over the last year to instil this lack of confidence?

They have a history of relaxing once the series has been decided and the aussies are going to be playing as if their lives depended on it. It's going to be a one-sided match.

I'm usually not a betting man either, but I think a 100 bucks on the aussies winning is a safe bet. Any other takers?

Deenem why would they relax, they have done so well to get into a position to become the no1 test team, at 2-0 up we can play for the win here and i would rather us lose going for the win than the game end of drawn.

I think we have done enough to deserve the No1 spot and i'm hoping we will grab the chance and screw the aussies in their own backyard 3-0.

GO YOU BEAUTIES!!!!.

Once we'd won the series in England there was not much to be achieved in the last test - I can understand their taking the foot off the pedal in that case. Here, we have a chance to make history. I don't think motivation against the Aussies has ever been our problem (maybe the controlling of that motivation).

The fact that Smith is staying for the third test says to me that they are going to take this one seriously.

I'm going to give 150 000% in watching this match. :D

Aye seeing as they are risking smith in a already clinched series also indicates to me that they will be taking this very very seriously.

Cant wait! :D

They are not risking smith, smith is risking smith. I can assure you smith would never in his life not play in this test, to be honest i am loving smith, he has turned into an awesome captain i think.

When will we or any other test nation ever get the chance to white-wash the aussies in a test match series again?

Yeah, I've never been much of aSmith fan (or Harris, for that matter), But I think he has been winning hearts and minds this tour. (And Harris).

Back to our chances in the third test: We didn't just beat the Aussies in the first two Tests - we beat them when they were in winning positions. In the second test we had to scramble to avoid the follow-on before Duminy/Harris then Duminy/Steyn saved our arses.

Fighting-back, and winning when your opponent has the upper hand, is the kind of thing that the Aussies have always done to us.

The roles have reversed. The Australians have a battered team, their batsmen aren't firing, their bowlers for tomorrow have 20 tests between them.

Anyway, that's my 2c. Back to trolling Aussie news sites. :D

I would say we have a very good chance of winning the 3rd test but I reckon Hayden and a few others might be playing for their respective test careers. If Hayden doesn't fire in this test, this tour may be the one that ends his test career!! Could be a dangerous predicament for us. Also Mr Cricket has probably had the worst run of his career in these 2 tests (strange as that might sound) and I'm weary of him too!!! In the bowling department with the exception of Johnson they haven't really scared us this series!! No Warne or McGrath to terrorize our top 6. It must be said the Ozzies are looking pretty ordinary at the mo... Well done to the Proteas!!!
