Going the wireless route

NEOTEL HAS GRADUALLY been rolling out its services over the past two years and with the launch of its enterprise wireless offering earlier this month, the ability of the new kid on the block to compete with Telkom has been taken to the next level.

slow yes, i have yet to see any neotell

I am getting very irritated by all these promises of "true broadband" and "lower prices". Quite simply, when is the average man in the street / small business going to enjoy these promises?

I understand that it takes time to install new services. I accept this. Will someone just tell me when?

Neotel will expand its range of services to offer some for small businesses and the high end of the consumer market.

So in this country if you want "true" broadband you must be rich?

Thank you for clearing that up Neotel.

Well at least things seems to be getting better not worse, atleast we have some kind of choice unlike a few years back where telkom was overlord of the Internet

I live in the northern surbs of Joburg. I have yet to see or hear of anyone using Neotel services. Maybe this is still part of the big secret, and "all will be revealed in due course".

Ditto:confused:

Yesterday afternoon I emailed Neotel with a coverage query and first thing this morning there was a response in my mailbox.

If nothing else their service seems to be pretty sharp.

This article will probably only be of interest to their 10 subscribers. For the rest of us it's the same old lame news and no delivery.

Don't know if you're just being cynical, but AFAIK they have 300-600 subscribers. :D

Does anyone know when we (the public) will be offered Neotel WiMax?

If they roll that out on a month to month basis, with reasonable installation fee, I'll pick it up in a flash. I know I'm not the only one.

let me guess....they do not cover your area yet.

The next level to what? If u can't even keep your map coverage up to date, I mean use google earth or something like flash or anything!

Won't that be cool, load Google earth and add like a packaged and see the areas the cover?

Yep, it seems to me like NeoGhost is incapable of independently determining its own pricing structures, and has instead decided to use Telkodemonopolies' exorbitant pricing as a benchmark.

There can be more than one Telkodemonopolies...

How many productive years have you got left on your life? - I suspect you're in for a long wait:

Exactly what I was thinking when I read BrendanD's post, NeoGhost is such a sad disappointment.

sigh..just relooked Neotel pricing...
I'm still waiting for pandy's quote: "Internet prices should be a quarter its now!" and when the government tried to hook through the infarco contraversy: "Internet prices should be 5% its now!"
Everyone always throwing around wild statements till the dollar bill signs hit their eyes...

Im sorry with the high latency of wireless, the still high pricing, use of caps so extensively in the pricing I DO NOT see Neotel posing any threat to Telkom whatsoever.
Everyone together: DUE-nopoly. :(
