Anyone out there using/used Golf Connection for their golf membership.
Any feedback on good/bad experiences and pros/cons of doing it this way.

Thanks

It is a total rip off.

If it is a handicap you need join a rural club. Most is charging +/- R800.00 a year. That includes a year's membership and full affiliation with SAGA who is running handicaps in SA.

Most clubs in SA accept these affiliation cards and will charge you affiliated prices. Look out for clubs with midweek competitions. They usually charge around R150.00 for the day. That way you can play great courses fairly cheaply.

Why then a total rip off?

I thing he might be referring to places like playmoregolf.
The cheapest package they offer, which basically is only to get affiliated rates is R599 joining fee + R189p/m.
This totals your first year @ R2867.

For that a year you can rather join a fairly decent club probably for less.
I'm near Durbanville GC in Cape Town and they offer membership for R2 327.00 p/y for ages 26-30.

But Golf Connection is offering a year subscription for R899 at Fairview Golf Estate.

And it includes:
Get a full membership from Fairview Golf Estate:
SAGA official handicap & handicap card
SAGA affiliation, play at affiliated rates
Bookings to be done with golf course directly
Can play in competitions at Fairview Golf Estate (including club champs)
Once off yearly fee, no monthly fees, hidden costs or prorata payments

So doesn't seem that bad?
