Shades between red and white?
Will there be any grey ones?
VW South africa are too arrogant for my liking, rather buy an Audi.
No. Technically Red is the only colour. The rest of the "colours" are different shades between White and Black. They have like 3 different types of grey, 2 different types of black, etc.
VW SA was actually ok. They said I should try and put in the order for the colour I want and see if they accept it. The decision came down to VW Germany though.

I think Gti's from Gti 5 to 7 they look nicer in Red white and black anyway. I cant see why would you spoil it with any other colour. ut awesome cars and the torque of 350 NM is impressive. That's my next car in two years. I am seeing some few white ones on the road and I love it. Which one is quicker between the Gti 7 162kw 350NM and the 35ed 173kw 300nm?

Red, white, black, silver and gunmetal grey... why would you want a GTI in any other colour? It'd just look wrong, and people would laugh at you.

My ultimate choice in colour would be Rising Blue Metallic. Otherwise basically the same kind of intensity as the Tornado Red, but in Blue. Like the blue the Audi RS4 came out in. The Night Blue Metallic that is available in the GTI is so dark, it almost looks black. I've driven Red in both my G5 GTI and G6 GTI (thus over 7 years) so I'm pretty much done with Red. I've never been a fan of White or Black cars, although for this time I'll settle for White since it at least let the grill and spoiler stand out with the black inserts.

Rising Blue Metallic will probably only be available on the .:R

I think red looks the best on the G7

I never liked it on the G5 because the rear lights disappeared into the body, but come to think of it I don't recall seeing a single G7 just yet but I would think the darker lights would be a bit more obvious.

Saw a red g7 with 20" wheels today, looks hot!
Have they started with engine mods?
How does it do with mods?

With vw doing TD1 scans tuning may or may not take a hit, if the ecu has been found to be flashed then your warranty will be void.

I don't care much for warranties lol.
Aslong as the service plans stay.
The warranty is one of the main reasons why I buy my cars new. As soon as the warranty runs out, I start getting uneasy and looking around for the next car. Anything that breaks is usually in excess of R10k (and that is for something small). The aircon on my Golf 5 GTI was like R20k which my warranty covered back then. Then there are the horror stories around turbo failure. I've never heard of any engine failure on a GTI, but I know some people with TDIs who had some.

I've yet to meet or hear of a VW dealer that has revoke a warranty claim on the basis of modifications.
If it happens they should be named and shamed and boycotted.
I doubt they would have given you trouble for an aircon had you had engine mods.

Did you get an opportunity to test drive a Gti 7 yet? if so, how is it? How big is the difference from the Gti 6?

Nah, I pretty much know what to expect so I just ordered it. I went to test drive a CC just to get a feel of the DSG box and although it drives pretty awesome, it is quite a big car and less economical. Maybe if I get married or something I'd take another look at it.

The performance pack is coming next year. I'd rather wait for that.

What does the performance pack include?
I am also thinking of just waiting for a bit. The second batch of the g6 GTI included LED lights, whereas
the first lot did not have LED lights.

Are you sure? Because the Performance Pack is already available but it is just not an option for SA (just like a bunch of other options). I've heard the new Golf R is coming next year.

The LED lights didn't come on the standard GTI. It was on the 35 Edition which is / was more expensive than the new Golf 7 GTI.
The Performance pack improves the power by 10hp, has bigger brakes and includes some kind of diff that is usually only found in 4-wheel drive cars... Apparently the inclusion of this type of diff is a world-first for a FWD car.

Fell in love with a white golf 7 GTi today.
It really is a beautiful car...
Still going to boycott Vwsa though!

Are you sure? Pretty sure when I was shopping around for a GTi last year (not the 35) , the LED lights were available.
