Golf V GTi drivers

Well @least our cars are serviced properly and everything is covered by the maintanace plan.
I am only selling to get another ford and including those to we have 3 ford's and 1 vw, they are also not needed any more.

All three of those ford's together are cheaper to run than 1 vw product and none have had turbo failures.

Those graphs only prove how closely matched a 147kw GTi 2.0L is to a 160 something 2.5L ST .

But end of the day, you buy what you like, so its no big deal on which car is faster. but i still want to see JUST ONE HOT looking ST. I think the OPC looks much better than the ST.

Oh wait... you didn't get the memo?? Most (if not all) BWA motor GTI's with the K04 turbo generates around 169 kw... and yes VW still promotes it as 147 kw cause otherwise their struggling R32 sales will suffer even more :rolleyes:

C'mon, uptil now i thought you had 'some' knowledge on motoring ...

The debate/dispute about the GTi with a K04 is still amongst the VW boys and more so with the GTi drivers themselves. What would you know ? Last time i mentioned I had a K04 you were nowhere to be heard :rolleyes:

That graph compares the 147kw GTi to the rest, and for you to imply that the .:R struggles to sell because of what you said , boy you know shyte.
Rather stick to what you only know, i.e Ford.

EDIT: such a pity (but not a coincidence) you cant show me one good looking Ford Focus.

What would I know? Only the stuff that a friend of mine use to tell me, but now he is gone and FRC has lost a great tuner and friend... The graph represents what the latest stock figures I had and the GTI shown there was with a stock 2007/2008 GTI which has been proven to be stronger than older GTI version (ie 2005/2006). This occurance wasn't just with a single GTI, but with numerous. So the graph doesn't represent 147 kw...

As for the R32 comment, if VW was to promote the GTI as having around 170 kw, then it would have an impact on the R32 sales as people would then rather buy a GTI which makes almost the same amount of power and yet costs close to R60k less...

It's a pity you can't see a good looking Ford Focus as I know people that see them everyday, just like I see good looking GTI's, OPC's, Meganes, Cupra's etc...

who is your FRC tuner & friend ? im curious to know this person cos he is giving you false information. Not all 07/08 are faster than the 05/06. By faster im talking 147 vs 169+ .

People who buy the .:R do it not because of the power alone, the complete package is far superior to the GTi. Power doesnt influence the decision of the majority, in fact, most dont even know what the power figures mean.

You know people who see good looking Focus's ? lol, funny one.
did anyone see the red one with (small) black wheels with a red lip riding in Centurion ? :sick:

I am sorry but seriously dude, i didn't even know the guy and from what i read/heard he was a very good guy/tuner. If you haven't heard of him then it's your loss, but don't try and question a guy's crediblilty. When
1) Don't know him or haven't heard everything there is to know about that certain dude.
2)When he already passed away-While giving everything for the things he had loved most-
and can't defend himself!
3) He was propably from what i gather 1 of the most respected tuners in SA and the ST guys have the highest regards of him.
 
Personally, I recon my S2000 is fastest .

How do you explain the 169kw increase then? Im also not sure im going on what Ive read here and vwclub site and the net and also saw graphs from car magazines showing 160+ kw...
 
Lowered compression ratio (compression was dropped from 10.5 to 10.3). A few other small tweaks and upgraded software.
Still the same turbo.

So it was purposefully upgraded for more power yet they did not announce it?
I think the new upgraded turbo for reliability is more believable...

But you acknowledging the new power figures....
I dont know, I want a K04 in mine!!:o

I was not questioning the guys work or professionalism, if you thought i did, i suggest you make an appointment to see an optometrist. Nothing wrong with me asking how many VW's he tuned.

Awesum, Malcolm posted here saying there are GTi's with the bigger turbo, now i dont see how a guy with so much experience and who has one of the quickest/fastest (if not the quickest/f ) GTi's on the road, can be lying ?
I think it may be that you have the K03 and you are jealous :p

Have any of you guys seen the computer with touch screen that fits into the VW GTI radio slot? I wanna upgrade my deck but not sure what to go for? I like the PC as I can install my nav software as well.... any ideas?

Where did you have it installed? $$? I am looking at fitting it as well. Does it have an option for GPS? Is it a good fit or is it a makeshift fit cos I saw a guy who had a double din unit (pc) that had been customised

dude, you are so right, a couple of cars, meaning 2 at max. lets recollect events, from Atterbury with you already a car in front, all the way to John Vorster, nice up hill, long straight, 2 cars ST vs GTI not bad I think and that was the point, you admitted it yourself.
Now for the Mods
Focus ST - Intake, Exhaust, Software and if i am not mistaken Intercooler upgrade (Evo's ST)
Golf GTi - BWA with stock K03s turbo and REVO Software ONLY (jojo)
