Good starter book

Is it a good idea to get a e-reader or should I stick to audio and printed material?

Start with printed material, free at any public library.

If you love it, then go e-reader for latest books at a discount. But why spend right now when you can read for free from a library?

Or go to a second hand bookshop and get it at a bargain price and take in all the smells of the old books.

Yes. Also flea markets, that's where I picked up my taste for Bosman's stories. Got a book for R20!

But start with the library. Your thread inspired me, I'm going now to renew my card.

I would start with one of Malcolm Gladwell's books - Tipping Point and Outliers were probably the best - the content is intriguing so the read was easy for me, and I am a light reader.

This has to be the advise ever
