Goodbye WebAfrica

what do you mean by 1.5gb booster?...at WA i got my cap for R39-00/gig....or R49/gig ( carry over )...Are we talking the same language here? lol

Hi Robin Hood,

lol....I don't think I made myself clear the first time, we have 2 booster options you can purchase should you reach your cap.
A 1.5GB booster that would set you back R99.00 and a 3.5GB booster that would cost you R250.00.

Evil

Speak of evil.....??

Why dont you have a look at TRL Technologies ;)................. That will drive you strait back in to WA or even Telkom's arms at a lightning fast speed :D

On a serious note, I am also looking at Telkom for a all in one supply.

Stay away from Cybersmart.

Crack-head mentality much?

@Mweb Guy --->

I see you guys do an ALL INCLUSIVE for R549 p/m for a 4mb/s 15 Gig CAPPED-line.

Some info please --->

1) Is this INCLUDING my "line"-rental for 4mb/s?
2) How much is it PER GIG top-up?

tia

Telkom do premium is cheaper since you get 20gb for R554.. even the top-ups are cheaper.

True....but to get HOLD of their support people...what an ISSUE! lol

Never in 6 years had to get hold of their support people regarding the ISP side. Only twice for line fault and I just logged a ticket online and the problem was resolved the next day. (don't try and call them, you will wait a day in the queue before they answer)

Mweb is ridiculous with their prices for extra cap. More than double what Afrihost is charging per gig.

Which reminds me, is Afrihost even still a viable option nowadays? One never hears anything about them anymore. It seems they got lost in the sea of other bigger ISPs.

They are my plan B account, and have always been fine when needed. Saying that though I only use them on the odd occassion, so can not comment on a day to day basis

We have two Webafrica Uncapped packages at work, and they work ;p! No issues there. But then again, I don't believe in buying a new harddrive every week.

...this is actually why I'm gonna join Telkom...not because of service ( as they have to fix their lines anyways ), but to have a speedier and "smoother" line...I went into saix.net via Telkom's "guest"-account....and all i can say is...it FLIES compared to WA's...

you might as well stayd with webafrica. what is your actual problem? is it not maybe your exchange thats overloaded

Nope...When i connect via Telkom's GUEST account, my lines run smooth...As soon as i switch over to WA...jerky. Been doing this for about 1 month now. Bluntly put, with Telkom i get 25% more download speed...its basically 1/4 faster ( without any jerkiness ). Been with WA for nearly 7 years, so believe you me...i wont leave for NOTHING!
I got a computer business to run....and cant afford "downtime" as WA encountered these couple of past weeks...Personally i think their Servers is "overloaded"...
Apparently ( what i've heard from another guy ALSO running the Titanium 2 account ) have the same prob....

i understand your circumstances. webafrica need to upgrade their servers or routers which is overloaded by the uncapped leechers

so true...Thing is, i hardly use 15 gig. Usually by the end of the month i download a bunch of crap just to fill my 25 Gig's
