Goodbye WebAfrica

TelkomInternet is excellent (at least in my area), downtime is virtually non-existent and line speed is epic. We honestly never have problems with it.

If you want fixed line with a cap, then TI is the way to go imo.

I ..appreciate your comments folks....I was actually thinking Telkom, as at the end...EVERYTHING runs via Telkom ( if you think about it ) and branching from other ISP's back to SAIX, can actually "Bottleneck" connections...

The problem with Telkom is that you have to deal with their support and it's just the worst. WebAfrica has been having a lot of problems lately (we also use them at work) but at least you deal with people that try to help you. With Telkom it's just plain horrible if you have to deal with their support.

If you don't want to be with WebAfrica anymore then I would also recommend MWEB. At least they have a person here that you can contact if you need to. Otherwise there's Afrihost, which even though they run through IS, you can always contact Moshe or even Gian here at MyBroadband.

But man, I will not even let my enemies go with Telkom.

...lol
Why i was thinking Telkom as well, I am a computer tech, and IF telkom lines fail, wether they have good support or not, i wont be needing support cause they WOULD have to fix the line anyways...Support can only tell you..."They are attending"...and thats IT!

Well, it was good while it lasted. WA is a total disastrous case nowadays and I'm moving away to Telekom...SAIX is much better ( I'm talking experience here...AT THE MOMENT! )

Which ISP would you guys recommend that uses a SAIX backbone, or should i just stick going to Telkom. Luckily I'm a Computer Tech and don't need assistance regarding networks and stuff...i just need a "stable" ISP...the rest I'll do myself ( setting up, etc )

Well I'd be seriously considering moving if I wasn't on the MYBB special

My 4mb line right now

Hope someone can give me more "info" on this? What i have HEARD ( this doesn't mean its TRUE ), but apparently MWEB is only good when it comes to "Uncapped" lines, but suck on "Capped" lines....True or False?
...would like feedback on this please folks as I'm going with a CAPPED line...and don't need uncapped...

Sorry to see that you're not happy with things! I'd like to see if I can possibly have things sorted out for your account. Please drop me a PM with your account details and I'll have things looked into for you.

I've found that there is no perfect uncapped solution. In the end you have to go with someone that is the least "evil" out of the lot and works for what you want to do and most importantly actually performs well from your location. You get however the obviously problem children that for example uses shaping that just decrement your line speed till it's next to nothing...

Thanks Jeff...You guys were tops ( I'm talking SUPPORT here ), but i have already made up my mind...those days of battling will be over for me in 1 month time...the problem isn't with YOU guys...but the servers that you use...

@Mweb Guy --->

I see you guys do an ALL INCLUSIVE for R549 p/m for a 4mb/s 15 Gig CAPPED-line.

Some info please --->

1) Is this INCLUDING my "line"-rental for 4mb/s?
2) How much is it PER GIG top-up?

tia

Yep

As a friend of mine recently found out, in excess of 600gigs a month will land you in hot water even if you are "uncapped"

Edit: Before I get flamed, there was also some p2p'ing in evidence

this is abusing in MY eyes....no wonder. I mean, if a guy goes to 60 Gig...or 100, i can still understand, but 600Gigs? That's like trying to tap water from a stone...

MWEB Guy
