Google Calendar SMS - Vodacom issues

Nope, its an alphanumeric. Its an irony that Vodacom will not allow a South African WASP (or any other in the world) to send using an alphanumeric (this is where the sender from has been manipulated) yet they can do it.

Why VC do it, only they can say.

When I registered it and got the verification code, other than that: nothing.

Just tested it and it is working just fine on Vodacom prepaid.

They Blatantly lied to you.
I have it in writing that Vodacom refused to put through SMS messages from Google, quoting that they were entitled to do so, as Google did not use a numeric identifier.
Google has subsequently changed their server details and you should be up and running again.

I laid an official complaint with Vodacom. Their reply?


Somehow I am not convinced.....
