I'm subscribed to the Chrome Dev channel and just updated Chrome this morning to version 4.0.201.1 .

So far very impressed with it, it's superfast and even comes with themes! Woohoo! Not sure if it was worth to name this version 4, but maybe there have been some major tweaks under the bonnet.

Anyone else using it & your thoughts?

I used Chrome for a while, but since it's not currently "supported" by Spybot ect. I decided to switch back to Firefox. Just after few hours of browsing on Chrome Spybot picked up a few suspicious stuff, so until that is sorted I'll stay with FF. :)

Where can i find v4? I tried the official web page, click on the link "try the latest betta" but can only download v3. BTW v3 is already way better than 2.

What I love about Chrome other than the uncluttered interface and superb speeds are the thumbnail view of the most visited websites.

What I don't like is the fact that the thumbnails are limited to 9 (8 on this newest version) while fast dial firefox add on allows an infinite number of thumbnails (I currently have 28).

I know that I just contradicted my uncluttered interface with a 26 thumbnail view but anyway...

Also Chrome simply won't integrate effectively with Orbit Download manager while FF does it seamlessly...

So currently I'm back with FF with the Chrome 3 add-on theme:)

Add-ons are currently being tested in Chrome V4, but at this stage developers are asked to test only their own add-ins....or you can be brave and download the add-ons, like Adsweep. :)

To install and use extensions in Chrome you have to be on the dev channel and start Chrome with the parameter –enable-extensions. Now download the extension below. Choose OK in the dialog that is shown. Now the plugin should be installed.

You can find the Chrome add-ons here, but very limited at the mo.

Here's the latest speed tests from betanews Chrome 4 is officially the fastest. A whopping 20.09 times faster than IE 7.

Looks like bookmark sync is in the mix (with possible XMarks support :) ), now all I need is NoScript and I'm leaving the Fox. Apart from the speed improvement Google Mail, Calendar and Docs work much better in Chrome 2 (I don't do beta browsers). And I'm using those more and more these days...

Chrome 3 Beta has got some really nice improvements over 2....and wasn't Google Mail beta for 5 years? :)

Well my main reason for that (beta browsers) is stability issues.

Yes it was (Gmail) and since it's come out of beta I've stopped downloading my mail via POP and am actually using it through the browser now :) And that's purely from all the awesome stuff that is now available.

Fully understand, I am like that with any beta Microsoft product. :)

However, I had Chrome 3 beta since the day it got released and it didn't crash once.

Have been on 4 since this morning, it's superfast & no problems to report. Even brought all my autocomplete usernames + passwords for web sites from 3. Very impressed so far.
