Quite a big moment! Well done to the Chrome team ;)

They only over taking other browsers because Google have Google Chrome bundled in so much other software, and most people just install it with what ever program they were installing in the first place, I am yet to see Firefox bundled with another program.

So you're sure that's the *only* reason Chrome is gaining market share at an astounding rate? I'm pretty sure Chrome is doing so well because people want their browser to be simple and feel fast. Same reason why iProducts are popular - they work well.

I use more than one browser, depending on what I'm doing.

The poll doesn't allow for that response.

Nah, polls are not meant to be complicated. Which browser do you prefer/use most of the time? I'd be surprised is it really was a 50/50 or 33/33/33 situation for you.

google also advertise chrome everywhere. agressive marketing, bundled with most google downloads, exclusive anti competitive web tech (heres looking at google maps and angry birds)

also, i think firefox support is dropping because of it updating far to often (we are like on 11 now?)

I feel sad for firefox, as they were the ones who started this whole internet revolution...now chrome is leaving them behind...I still prefer firefox, but also use chrome for certain tasks...

Internet revolution??!?!?! Firefox?!?!?!
:wtf:

Care to be a bit more specific about what you actually mean by that?.

On Topic though, I use Firefox, Chrome, IE, Opera... all depending on what I'm doing as no browser is perfect. Each one is better than the others in some ways.

He means that before Firefox, the web browser market was stagnant. Firefox showed up and IE ignored the challenge until they started losing market share. Then they started producing newer versions of IE which can only be described as being "slightly less kak" than the previous version.

I guess adding the option "I use more than one browser" is too complex for some people who post on this forum.

That would be the "Browser revolution" and not the internet revolution...

But it wasn't Firefox that did that... it was more Mozilla(as Netcape) in my opinion.

With this logic IE and Safari should have more market share.

As opposed to IE which is installed on every single windows computer?

I'm sure these browsing stats are actual usage stats and not just "happens to be installed on pc" stats

Why do corporates insist on IE?

is it not so that they can choose the various settings for example the homepage and other stuff using the policies with Windows Server.

Anyway it feels like an end of an era now, with chrome overtaking IE, albeit for 1 day.

my university(up) doesn't support opera. so i have to stick with firefox.

Why does everyone need plugins and addons?

Security, PRIVACY and the dam ads, sooooo many dam ads all over the net, its moved beyond a bonus to becoming a necessity lately.

On that note, I prefer Firefox, Chrome second and IE last.

Firefox for me, I was a Netscape fan back when it was still developed.

Where is the Apple fans (Safari), when it comes to tablets they are usally all over the place busy bad mouthing Google/android, but when it comes to browsers it seems they go the google route (Chrome).

Wonder how many of the Chrome users is using it for Business related tasks. I know we have a lot of isues with some Enterprise Web applications on Chrome. Some apps don't even work on IE when chrome is installed on the same PC. Some kind of conflict.

Well, the system that us Vodacom dealers use supposed to used with IE...but me being a Linux boy use it with Chrome and I am pretty satisfied. In the beginning...reporting did not play nice..but much better now.
