Lack of users, silly patents.
They should really sort out this patent crap, this is insane.
Generally all of these patent "wars" have involved trivial little things like someone will have a patent on "pressing a button" or something. This time Apple/iOS has blatantly ripped off one of the best features in android that no-one else had.
This should not happen! I know it is payback for Apple's silly patent claims, but this might harm the industry. The wars between iOS and Android (and other insignificant OS' for smartphones), has stimulated the market in order to produce devices like the iPhone, Galaxy S3, RAZR, One X and the Experia (not to mention the tyablets out there). And though most Android and iOS lovers would like to push them aside, even Nokia has made serious advances to compete against Android and iOS. By "killing" iOS, this competition might not get stimulated as much and we (the end user), might not see serious advances in this technological field. I'm not saying growth will seize to exist, I am just saying it might be much slower.
The manufacturers have their, not your, best interests at heart. To expect anything else is being just a tad naive.
As much as I despise Apple people still use their products and enjoy it. Loosing either OS coz the other sued them is ridiculous. Both OS's have stolen some functionality from the other. Honestly they should not fight about small **** like Samsung phones look like iPhones. If you cant read and see this is a iPhone and this is a Samsung then really. Plus iPhones are so much smaller anyway. They should just hug it out and make peace and then maybe end world hunger with all the money they were demanding from one another.
I'm astonished to see the amount of Apple hatred... Perhaps we need a thread on "How Apple have wronged you personally" to get all these bottled up feelings out in the open![]()

Welcome to the next logical step in the world of patent warfare: mutually assured destruction (MAD).
