Google G Suite Business Question

Hi guys,

I am a photographer and wanting to backup my photos/videos as well as a bunch of other items (altogether over 1TB) to Google Drive. I know that Google currently does not enforce the "5 user rule of unlimited storage" but am just worried if Google decides to enforce it one day. Will they delete the excess data of G Suite's of less than 5 users that go over 1TB?

Has anyone gotten any assurances from Google in this regard?

I don't think they will just delete it. You will probably get notified about any changes beforehand. My payment failed and they give you a very generous 1 and half month before they suspend the account after failed payment and even after that they even give you more time to pay and activate the account again so I doubt they will just go and suddenly delete everyones stuff and enforce that limit.

There are people on reddit that really abuse this unlimited google drive. Saw some posts in the data hoarder subredit of people storing like 200-300TB of data....

On another note the $10 monthly for unlimited storage is an absolute steal to be honest. All local CDN servers too so fast upload and downloads especially on fibre.

I have about 2.5TB stored. Probably going to bump that up to like 10TB because I want to clear my harddrives a bit so my 100Mbps upload should keep up. Also got an email about 45min or so ago saying the sub will increase from $10 to $12 per month.

I use a free domain name I got way back from http://www.za.net and the using the free DNS service from afraid.org.

You can use freenom.com for a 100% free domain name and link it to afraid.org for better dns management to get email setup ect (100% free just renew every 12 months) or you can even use a sub domain name from afriad.org.
