Google launches Wikipedia rival

Knowing Google it'll be the most innovative and fresh clone out there :p

It's their knol, their voice, their opinion.

This isn't a good point, in my opinion.

I use the Wikipedia because it has the "correct" information. Not someone's opinion. I think that Google is on the wrong track here.

Wikipedia also "looks" better for me.

They do seem to have more experts writing - for example the article on migration cause and treatment is written by a doctor.

A previous commenter said that the Wikipedia has correct information - it has information that is generally AGREED to be correct by the contributors. This can lead to lowest common denomitor type information, as opposed to actually correct information.

What I pointed out is the fact that Google "sees" it as their opinion.

Google may be on the right track for their own vision of this incentive and not the 'Wikipedia clone' deduction.

I think McGuywer hit the nail on the head. If we want opions, we can hit the blogosphere or discussion forums.

I don't see how it could even compete since wiki has been around for years! It looks more like a medical forum. Doesn't seem very Google like.
