Google Nexus 4

I'm just trying to sell my Nexus 4 16GB. Great phone. Just not using it.

I would suggest just using the phone for a while before rooting etc. Its not the be and end all if you just want to use a phone. When you get bored then go mad. :)

I want to have the best possible experience :)

I don't want to install apps etc etc and then only start using different things because then it's a mission to reinstall everything etc

Here ya go. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2018179. After doing that you would've unlocked your bootloader, rooted the phone and installed a custom recovery. From there you can decide which ROM you want to use.

Most of the work goes into just installing the proper drivers on your PC. After those are installed and you have ADB set up it's ez-mode. Good luck :)
