Google Nexus 4

I am using the Ringke Fusion case. Dust particles and other bits of pocket lint do get underneath the back cover. I take it out of the cover once a day or so to give it a quick clean, haven't noticed any scratches yet. The phone came with a screen protector on the back, but the cover very soon started lifting that, so I peeled it off. This is a brilliant phone at a great price, but it would have been nice if the glass back had been optional. Even the Ringke Fusion clear back pretty much hides the back, so in retrospect a thinner opaque cover might have been a better choice.

I have ordered a full body invisibleshield type protection as I rather use phones as naked as possible.... I will report back when I receive it and the phone.

Thanks for letting me know about that case.

There is some stuff in there, but I know I was lazy when I put it on the first time, so most of it is stuff I simply didnt clean out to begin with. You're more likely to get scratches on the outside, I've got one so far, but as for the inside, I wouldnt worry, especially since I've got a "screen" protector on the back. I'm happy though, cause I know I'm far better off if I drop the thing on its backside since the case will take any impacts from uneven ground, whereas the bumper wont be doing much at all.

I'd love to know the science behind Gorilla Glass. You get YouTube videos trying to scratch the hell out of the glass with knives and keys etc. etc. Then one day you accidentally put your keys and phone in your pocket for 2 seconds and you have a hairline scratch?! This happened on my GN.

Keys and knives aren't strong enough to scratch it. The scratch you got in your pocket was probably from sand.

Gorilla glass reportedly has a hardness of around 7 or so (may be higher), but sand and other minerals will scratch it easily as they are harder.

Keys, knives, and the stuff they use in YouTube videos will never scratch the glass as they are made out of softer materials than the glass.

Here's an interesting video about it:

Got my N4 today, very excited

Unlocked the bootloader / rooted / flash CM10.1 and all is well. It's amazing how much faster this is than my previous phone (Galaxy S).

Now to protect it for the next two weeks until my cover and screen protector comes (Ringke Fusion + Rearth front and back screen protector) :erm:

Doesn't it have some protection on it out of the box?

Awesome battery life! This is 13h30m on battery

I've never really liked MIUI, it's always seemed very iOS like to me with the icons and no app drawer. But good for the people that like it and want to use it.

With themes available, you can modify the standard MIUI launcher look. I still love the ROM.

My phone arrived yesterday at JHB INTL mail centre and has gone to customs, I really hope they don't take long.
