How much would you be willing to offer? I have one that was barely a week old when the front glass got cracked. Screen still working 100%.
Thanks, but I'd rather have it fixed then. Bought it for R4k, and repair will cost max R1.2k.

the digitizer alone is a heliver big job.even lg overseas replace the complete unit
the complete screen is 1500 alone excluding shiping to sa and then you need fitment
do you know anyone who can fix it in sa?
i tried to find but no one had the screen and lg refused to repair it

I emailed the company asking them to add the digitizer without the lcd a while ago, but apparently that was all they could acquire.
Plus it's in SA, so getting the part shouldn't take too long.

In my honest opinion, Google can go ***** themselves if they make it so glassy again. I know it has a certain 'appeal', but no thanks. I'd rather sit with cheap plastic, or better yet, that nice metal from the HTC One =)

Your post doesn't exactly inspire confidence.
My phone fell down flat on the parking lot this afternoon. The front glass is shattered, the touch (digitiser) is screwed, but the LCD seems fine.
Anyone have any luck getting this repaired in SA?
Don't know any dealer that will do it as most can't get the part
My Bro and I did it on one
Took our time n is working 100% now

I have opened my N4 before, not too difficult. I followed the Nexus 4 Teardown at iFixit. I did however break the plastic strip just above the volume rocker (hardly noticeable).
yep its not so hard
but its not as easy top open the case as the videos for some reason.both sides at the buttons are tough and can easily break

Fixed my desire S back in the day when I dropped it. Got a replacement digitizer off ebay which didn't work so ended up taking the phone apart and putting it back together to use the cracked one until I got a real replacement. Phone is still working although it does take strain taking it apart and putting it back together a few times. The N4 does look like more of a job than the Desire S, but I'm pretty confident I could fix one if I got my hands on a broken one.

Ag.... I decided to just scan the back of my phone, trace the pic to make a vector file, cut out black vinyl on my sticker cutter, stick over the broken back... not beautiful, but better than looking at cracked glass.
