Not sure how you got to the "outperforms" part because they both have the same SOC.

Comment was based on my own experience, possibly "outperform" is not the best choice of word, I noticed not a single difference in actual performance, neither device seemed to edge the other one, although the S4 LTE running GE has a lot more 'features' going for it than the N5. What experience do you have comparing these two devices side by side? (I'm talking S4 LTE running pure GE - not run of the mill S4). Basically, the cheaper price tag was not enough to motivate me to downgrade from my custom S4 to the N5.
I've never done a benchmark test on my vanilla S4. I think I may have done one on my first Android device (S2) as I began to learn about the OS, but not bothered since.
Hehe
Dude settle down.
how did you arrive at the conclusion that the S4 "outperforms" the N5.
I have no experience comparing two devices side by side
I always thought people would fight over iOS vs Android, never thought I'd saw guys arguing over two similar Android phones![]()

So I heard you are not going to sell the Nexus anymore. Are you still pining for that red one?
Haha, wow, that's rich
Pots and kettles and all that.
I was hell bent on the N5 based on all the reports in this thread, there are countless posts making it out to be the most amazingist phone ever. I realized it's not all that when compared to a specific model S4 running vanilla. Simple. Nothing to do with "fanboy", no argument, it's my opinion.
It's a pity I didn't get my hands on an N5 before I got the i9505, I have no doubt I would have loved it. Now that I had a chance to compare both, I certainly prefer the extras the S4 LTE has to offer over the N5. My wife has a standard S4 with touch wiz, I can barely operate the thing with the same speed or ease I do a vanilla rom. It's ghastly.
I'll definitely keep an eye out for the N6.

Come on!!!
Nexus 5 beats the GS4 hands down on the looks side!
With that huge bezel below the screen?I think not!

Guess better late than never. Esquire just got stock of the Nexus 5 for about R4999 ex Vat. Not sure what colors at this point in time. They just got them in and released the pricing. Sauce
Great deal!
Hmm, it's like R5700 with VAT. Orange has the 16GB for R5255.

Oh yes ... I forgot their prices are excluding VAT (and I didn't read the small lettering on the top right section of the ad)
R5700 is still not bad. And I would rather get the one from Esquire (32GB) or import myself than put up with the incompetence I encountered with Orange. What I would like to know, however, is how Esquire would treat the warranty. Google has a no nonsense replacement policy (as far as I know), but I fear that Esquire might pull the usual "lemme fix that for ya" attitude.
Yeah, important question. And based on many people on here's experience with them... :erm:
