Google Nexus 5

You will never get three months usage out of a charge :p

Best to ask for usage stats in the G2 thread. Compare with mine earlier in this thread

How is the battery life on the Nexus 5 with the 2300 mAh battery compared to the LG's 3000 mAh? I know it depends on what the user is doing on the device, but I'm looking at more along the lines of about 3 months of usage.

2300 mAh vs 3000 mAh ....it should be obvious which one is better. :p

haha :D , I guess the best way to make a conclusion is by personal experience, I believe both phones are good, so if I pick one or the other it will still be a better buy than what I could only get at MTN.
Thanks for the help yall!

After about three months I'm getting about 18 hours of standby with 3.5-4 hours of screen on time and about 20 minutes of calls a day on average. The battery can be inconsistent, though, with some days much better than that and some days worse. The LG is definitely going to be better than that on average, but if the Nexus fills your needs then it will be fine too.

Personally, I'm thoroughly enjoying the stock Android experience. I've done the whole installing of custom ROMs thing on phones in the past and while it makes a big difference (delighted to see the back of Touchwiz), this is faster and more stable. I have no regrets about choosing the Nexus over the LG.

Reviews show g2 has around 50% left after a day!

NExus 5 is good but not good enough for me , played some games on mine yesterday , battery died insanely quickly!

Through i easily get through a day , of whatsapp , facebook etc

Games will kill the battery, though, regardless of the device.

I'm trying to create an optimal setup using a number of apps / modules / usage patterns. I'll post something as soon as I feel that it's good enough.

How long does it take for an update to reach us here? I'm a relatively new Nexus 5 owner and haven't been through the process before.

no one has received the ota as yet..so it'l depend when google start rolling out the ota

Tell us more... :D

I was just too lazy to setup everything again, even if Titanium Backup backs everything up. Then there is the small issue of being used to a certain layout and feature set that you had with your old setup, which is now gone.

But I think it may be worth it. Need to do some battery testing on a script that I have been tweaking over the past few days. The best battery life I had was on the stock ROM, and I was curious to see if the trend would continue.

So, anyone updating to 4.4.3? My revert-to-stock plan fell through, my patience ran thin...

I definitely will. That camera is bug is terribly annoying! I have to restart my phone every time I use an app that uses the camera.
