Google Nexus 5

Damnit. :(

Really hope these 'Silver' devices won't be bloody expensive.

+1.

The attractiveness of the nexus range was the price.

At the same time we may see other manufactures getting in on the pure android experience. I'm sure google with give them rules and guidelines to follow. And force them to be quick on updates.

Yeah, the N5 may be an end of an era. These Silver phones sound interesting, not that the Nexus devices aren't well built.

I'm not convinced that the supposed Silver range will replace the Nexus devices. I see them closer to being replacements for the GP Edition devices that have proliferated the market.

Hi guys like to find out if anybody had problems ordering from orange and how long did you wait for delivery? i want to get the red nexus

I ordered on Thursday. Got the phone Monday morning. Also red.

This really cool: customisable vinyl skins for the Nexus 5.

Best image I could grab as an example:

I'm also really considering ordering the Nexus 5 from Orange. My upgrade is due the 1st of June and all the cellphones that fall in my price range is rather expensive e.g. R269 for the Samsung Galaxy S4 mini, for that payment per month I can get http://store.orange.com/za/mobile-phones/sim-free-phones/google-nexus-5-32gb-red-260556/ and still achieve the same expenses as what I would've paid at MTN. Also why doesn't MTN/Vodacom or Cell C stock the Nexus range?

Edit: I see that the LG G2 is almost the same price as the N5, how does the two handsets compare to each other? I know they are both made by LG.

The LG G2 has a better camera, I think. The Nexus' stock Android is an advantage though.

If you're one to flash different ROMS, the G2 might be your best bet (CM for instance). If not, the Nexus might be the better choice.

Also, be wary of the fact that the G2 has 16gb of storage. On the orange store anyways.

in fact everyone in sa apart from virgin mobile are claiming to stock the 32gb,which is very sad

How is the battery life on the Nexus 5 with the 2300 mAh battery compared to the LG's 3000 mAh? I know it depends on what the user is doing on the device, but I'm looking at more along the lines of about 3 months of usage.
