Google Nexus 5

Apparently they still haven't addressed the mm-qcamera-daemon bug. :(

Sigh. Only thing I really wanted fixed.

Updated my N5 (and N7) yesterday afternoon. Low battery drain overnight (4%), so at least nothing seems to have gotten worse there! Camera focus is quicker and better - but those two aspects are all I've noticed, so far.

OTA or sideload?

Technically, I think neither! Downloaded the full 4.4.3 image for each device and then flashed radio, boot.img, bootloader and system.img via adb.

Did you do this "on device" or with a PC? Did you wipe?

I used Wug's Nexus Root toolkit to flash 4.4.3 on my Nexus 7. Unchecked "wipe". I will hold out a couple days to see if the OTA pops up on the N5 although I already downloaded that image too.

Via Mac. If you don't flash userdata.img, your data remains intact. (I'm stock, rooted, with TWRP. Flashing those 4 images, then booting into recovery to flash superSU, retained root and all data).

Awesome. Follow a guide for this? Or free-balled?

There are flashable zips that don't wipe your data already up, as well as rooted and deodexed ones...

Still mulling over this. Maybe I'll play with it come the weekend.

Nope lost nothing at all. Not even login passwords. Just took a longer than I thought.
