So what's wrong with the Nexus 5 as it is? Or even the Moto X as the alternative Nexus device?

Absolutely nothing! I love it! Size, shape, feel, capabilities, etc - all fine. But there will come a time when the N5 will need to be upgraded for 64-bit (according the various explanations for the requirement of 64-bit in a phone), stronger processor, memory, camera upgrade, etc. The N5 in it's current form will unfortunately not be a viable option in 10 yrs time, so it needs to keep abreast* with it's competitors as time goes by. But keep the 7 different sizes for those who want to have smaller to large devices.

The N5 will be fine. 64-bit won't be an issue for a while still. I'm sure that Google knows breast.

@Maverick: Still waiting for a response... How much are you selling your N5 for?

Camera samples are out. Not very impressed, but they look OK. Not sure on how final the software was when the pics were taken, but there is a lot of noise present in the photos, especially at lower light. Needs some work.

It shares the same sensor as the OPO and HTC Desire Eye, so it has a good hardware platform.

I;m kind of think to just freaking by a N6, kind of like closing my eyes and just doing it. The size is playing on my mind though, think I might check out a Note4 or iPhone6+ first to get a proper feel for size. Then again, it's only 12 months until the N7...

So, Carphone Warehouse have done a hands-on video of the device, comparing it to the Note 4. Looks impressive:

Lollipop looks tasty!

Come on Kingrob, you know you want the N6!
Yes, Lollipop looks great.

The Play Store is now running on the new material design.

Nexus 6 is a huge phone, will first have to see it in the flesh.
