I thought those were just cases?

You might be right? I may have put 2+2 together and come up with eleventy seven.

Hmm...

Beefed up N5 would be awesome, though. Retain the 5" device, but add a phablet to the lineup.

It would certainly make sense. I'd imagine 6" is a bit too niche and way out of most peoples comfort zone, it certainly is for me. I reckon a jazzed up 5 would outsell the 6 by a country mile.

If there is going to be a 5, I don't think we should expect it to have top specs... probably a mid-range phone if I had to guess... (which is probably where it's current specs put it)

Sjoe, 6'' is phablet territory.

First want to see it in the flesh.

The Nexus 6 is no bigger than my OnePlus One. It's an awesome size. Wouldn't go smaller now that I've had it.

Hopefully Cyanogen will be as quick as usual with bringing Lollipop to the OPO. Can't wait to use material design.

So, officially, I do quite like it. Also, good on Google for not selling the device at a cut price, and going back to the normal Nexus model. To me, it indicates that they are not skimping on anything. This will probably be the best selling Nexus yet by virtue of it being available at the same price as other flagships (and cheaper than the iPhone) on every US network.

EDIT: More thought into this. Ceding that the carriers still hold too much power was a necessary, if not ideal step made by Google. This may see them offer the device on more carriers globally- which could mean here.

The last "carrier-contract-sold" Nexus device was the Galaxy Nexus- and even we got it.

And Google didn't skimp on the size either. :)

Almost like they decided to make this big faak off phone and put Android lollipop on it to throw a big middle finger.

Fantastic.

Do I like it? I'm really just not sure. It leaves me totally ambivalent because on one hand I do like a bigger screen and on the other hand, I hate it. Part of me is saying, imagine how much more reading you could do and internet browsing would be so much better on that screen. The other part nearly dropped my G2 this morning trying to send a message with 1 hand, an event that happens with such regularity that whenever I send messages on my wife's 5c it's like my hand goes to a happy place (and not that happy place kthx). On balance I think they've taken the size too far and while it will certainly appeal to some people, it also cements the reality that the Nexus program is an experimental montessori laboratory where device makers get to spitball on their real phones.

I don't have a problem with the size but that price makes it very un-Nexusy

It's not a budget friendly phone, but a proper flagship phone.

Not so sure about the 13MP camera, Moto has never been crowned as the camera kings.

That's usually a software issue, not hardware.

If I'm honest, the only thing I really want in my phone that a Nexus phone has, is the timely updates.

I would go for a new Moto G or Moto X. No horrible UI and bloatware and timely updates as well. Ive got a 1st gen Moto X and it was updated to 4.4.4 months ago.

I went from a Note 3 to a Nexus 5, and I couldn't have been happier. The only thing I miss from the Note 3 is the IR remote functionality, and it seems the Nexus 6 still doesn't have that. I would've loved the specs of the Nexus 6 in a Nexus 5 size, but keeping the 1080p screen resolution, as personally there's not really that huge a difference at that size for me, and it would've done wonders for the battery life.

For now, the Nexus 5 is still fulfilling all my needs, so I don't really see myself upgrading, unless they perhaps release a Nexus 6 Mini.

Get a Note 4. Same specs. Better camera (probably) and IR ;) Probably same price as well.

If the Nexus 6 is too big, imagine the iPhone 6+ ;)
