Google Nexus 6

No, the speculation is that the entire chipset could be swapped out (for a fee) for say S2 and up. They emphasized that it was an enclosed unit in the presentation. So imagine if you take it to Apple store after a couple of years, pay like $200 or whatever, and get the latest SoC swapped out on the spot. It would greatly improve the longevity of the devices which, if you're going for an upper end model, could easily hit upwards of $1000.

Ah, OK. Now that would be something. And by extension- if you wanted to upgrade the case and bands, you could possibly do something similar.

But that would raise the upfront cost of the device, I would think.

Would be awesome if like USA carriers here could stock the device. Previous "terms" where understandable where it was only sold in selected stores but now that many popular USA ones will be stocking would be nice to see it on our shores

QHD (Quad HD), not qHD (Quarter-HD)
Oh scuse me :)

Well the band design is very modular. They're fully swappable already and that mechanism looks really elegant. The case itself I don't think so, since it actually IS the watch (I believe there are 3 models of case - sport which is ironically not sapphire or waterproof, normal which is sapphire screen and waterproof, and luxury which is gold plated). But the promo videos show the bands slipping in and out and that's actually how you would personalize the watch.

But as far as cost goes, the quoted $350 base cost you have to think is just the sport model with the rubber strap. Anything better than that is going to be a premium. The highest end model is a reinforced gold; I'd expect those to be in the $5-10000 region.

I'm having a slow Friday. I actually get what you mean now. Sounds like a rather decent value proposition if Apple really want to handle it that way.

I can't take it anymore... I can get a Moto X NOW! vs waiting who knows how long for the nexus? :(

I would wait.

Well... I tried not watching any crappy Nexus 6 reviews, but then I clicked the Android Authority Unboxing and woooow

That will help me just wait a little bit more.

How are you guys planning on getting one?

I'm planning to get a dbrand skin for mine. Can't imagine fitting a case on this phone!? I will get made fun off :p

I've never lived on the edge like that :D does anyone know if I get a white phone and I fit a skin if you'll still see some white? Dust and dirt usually get stuck on the edges and would that leave bad marks? Would I be better off with a Blue one?

Unfortunately I'm not going to be lucky enough to own one... maybe next year... but at this stage my Note 4 will have to do. One day I'll own a nexus ;)
