Google Pixel 4a

Or wait for the Pixel 5 withing the next few weeks, which should come in cheaper than the Pixel 4... considering that the 3XL is using an ancient chipset.

$750 plus delivery and customs? More than double.

Personally, the pixel 4 is a POS, the 5 will no doubt be what it should have been in the first place.

So the 3 xl works fine? Why wouldnt the 4 work fine?
I'm referring to it's features that are novelties. The radar face recognition, terrible body to screen ratio die to this, and the lack of a wide angle lens.

For the price, it's pretty crap for what you get. I'm sure a wide angle will be included on the 5 as they learnt their lesson.

Face recognition has improved a lot over the months. I have 0 issues. Btw, pixels doesn't use the radar chip for face unlock. It uses a dot projector, IR camera and a flood illuminator.

Granted, the blackbar at the top is not the prettiest. It has to hide the radar and face unlock tech somewhere though.

The bottom one is perfect for full screen navigations. I've tried various other phones that have a smaller bezel at the bottom, P40 pro, OP8 pro, S20 range etc. Fullscreen navigation becomes a pain once you drop the phone in a cover. I've used fullscreen nav for too long now, if you use the button layout it's a different story.

Wide angle would've been nice, I agree. However, to me the pixel is still one of the best point and shoot camera out there.

The battery has improved over the months. I get 6-7 SOT now, and that on a 3700 battery.

My main gripe is the subpar screen. It could be brighter, even after the brightness software update. I hope they throwing a good screen into the 5.

Expensive yes, but the OS/hardware integration works well on the pixel. I keep going back to the pixel.

I also keep on going back to the pixel. The 4 was a flop, let’s be honest.

Im very happy with my 4, its a slick phone and that's exactly what I wanted. Bought it at $200 off (Black Friday sale). The only think I don't like about it is the fact that so many features are not available outside SA, but that applies to all Pixels.

Look, I wouldn't call it a flop. But yea, I agree it could've been equipped with better hardware. I do enjoy it more than the pixel 3, but that's only due to the 90hz. If you hide the notch on the 3 xl it feels like the same phone.

Let's cross fingers the hardware will be better on the 5, hardly doubt it though with Google being Google. Sheep will buy regardless.

My Pixel 4a arrived today, order from Amazon on August 5th and in my hands as we speak.

If I paid double the price for a pixel 4 over the 4a I would also be a bit sour. It’s been discontinued for a reason. Telephoto lens over a wide angle? It’s funny.

One would swear that people are queuing up to swop their Pixel 4's for Pixel 3's.

Just out of curiosity does anyone know of how I can get the phone besides for Amazon?
I saw Zeek has it for R14k
